This is in response to the topic titled-FAQ's ?- Everyone's help needed. I'm sorry it took me so long to give you guys the answers to your questions. I will list my -answers according to the member who posted. Here we go.
In response to eaisaacs-
1) The Basic line made with Mod-INFI and respirene-c handles. The Combat line is made with INFI and has micarta hand-les.
2) The Battle Mistress is in the Combat line, not the Basic line.
3) Through Busse Combat (call 419-923-6471) or through a distributor. You can call the shop to get the name of your local distributor or email me and I'll find out for you.
4) Yes,at www.bussecombat.com.
5)INFI and Mod-INFI are proprietary steels to Busse Combat Knives. They are high carbon steels that were formulated for us. The main difference between INFI and Mod-INFI is that there is less colbalt in Mod-INFI.
6) Respirene-c is a synthetic material that is highly resistent to various weather and tempertures. It is also resistant to various chemical agents and will not break down when exposed to DEET (a chemical in certain bug sprays)unlike other synthetics.
7) Busse Combat Knives are designed to perform any enviroment. We guarantee it.
8) We suggest using a ceramic rod. Check out the web site for specific instructions.
9)Lifetime warranty on the blade and handle. The coating is not covered. Also, if you intentionally try to damage the knife, it is not covered. That means you stick it in a vise and bend it till it breaks, if you live you can't get a replacement. However, if while you are using it to perform a task and it fails, we'll cover it. WE STAND BEHIND EVERY BLADE WE MAKE.
10) Kydex lined condura or kydex. It depends what we have in stock.

In response to s002cjs-
1) Those are abbreveations for the Combat line knives. SH is Steel Heart, BA is Badger Attack, etc.
2) -E means the current ergo handle, -SH means the old style straight handle.
3) A knife made by an apprentice at the Busse shop. They are made out of various steels and designs. They are sold as is wiyh no warranty.

Nimrod, I think the beer in question has a Black Label.

In response to Andrew Lynch
1)An asymetrical edge is beveled, or ground more on one side than the other. Like a lawnmower blade.
2) A custom twist on a standard model. lIKE A BM-E with a Bowie tip or a false upper edge.
3) They are for lashing the blade to something. Like in a stick to create a spear.
4) Check out Climber's post in the original post.
5) The current Combat line is-
Assualt Shaker
Badger Attack-E
Natural Outlaw
The new six inch model
Steel Heart-E
Mr. Mojo
Battle Mistress-E
The Basic line is the #3, #5, #7, #9.
6)Yes and no. It is a carbon steel with 9% chromium. the average stainless has about 11-12% in them. INFI is a very tough, corrosion resistant steel.
7)Busse is known for having a "clean" blade. For the fist 10 years we mostly made knives for the military. Knowing that our blades were being used in the special operations community, an unmarked blade was desired.
8)The Desert Warfare has a tan handle.
9)Try On/Scene Tactical for kydex or Kenny Rowe for leather.
10) Yes at an additional charge.
11) An epoxy coating with TFE in it.
12) Call the shop and talk to Jerry or Dave.(419-923-6471)

NO- 5.5 inches
The new six inch- 6 inches
SH-E- 7.5 inches
Mr Mojo- 8.5 inches
BM-E- 9.5 inches
14) yes.

Chip, the variants are considered custom production knives.

In response to medusaoblongata-
Actually the Busse line are a great value. I have seen custom knives in a 9 inch model go for $1000. the BM-E at $347 is an incredible bargin. INFI is the toughest steel on the market. they outperform anything out there. ABusse will perform any task you require it to do. aour knives are backed by a lifetime warranty. If you bought it new or used, it doesn't matter, it's covered. INFI is a proprietary steel to Busse Combat. Where Mod-INFI is tougher than anything on the market, INFI is one step above that. You can buy Busee knives through the shop at 419-923-6471 or through a dealer. Call the shop for the nearest one near you.
Oh, and I forgot. The folder is in Jerry's pocket.

Andrew,
Thanks for the answers, however, I have been working on this since I first posted the Questions. I did not intend anyone to spend any time on them but myself. I appreciate the answers and I continue to read many old threads to expand on the ones you have. I have recently spoke to Jerry on this and am intending to send mine to him first so there is no confusion on the answers. I hope there was no misunderstanding on this but I have about 11 pages of answers that I have been editing to make more concise. At that point I will send them to Jerry and then post the ones I have been working on.
Thanks
Eric Isaacson

Is that like Black Ops ?

This is great information on Busse knives. I have only been a Busse Groupy for a few months, but I have learned a lot from this forum. One day soon, I hope to be a proud owner of a Busse knife (knives, if my wife doesn't kill me for buying to many knives and guns).

Andrew and other Busse Groupies,
I'm sorry if I came off like a total jerk on my original post to this thread, however, this thread caught me by surprise. Please see my original FAQ's Thread linked here http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum39/HTML/001298.html
Since this was originally posted I've spent countless hours reading old threads to concisely and comprehensively answer these questions. I have read nearly all of Jerry's Posts on this forum along with many of Cliff Stamp's and Andy Prisco's. I not only want to include the answers but also a history and/or background with the answers, along with links for additional information.
Andrew, I'm sorry there was a misunderstanding and you thought you needed to spend time on this. All the questions I had posted were ones I new the answers to but thought they would be helpful for a Busse Newbie.
I have spoken to Jerry about this and he thinks it is a good idea, however, he wants to read it before it is posted here. I will continue to work on it as there is information that I've found that might be of interest to this group as a whole.
Sorry again if I sounded like a Jerk, that was not my intent, however, this thread made it appear all the time I've spent on this was wasted. I will hopefully have questions and answeres done so it can be posted next week.
Medusa- That format was what I had hoped to achieve.

There is nothing to be sorry about Eric. All of your questions were pretty good and hopefully some of the new forumites will get some good info out of this. Anyway, it made me refresh my memory on some subjects.
Yours in nuclear refreshment,
Andrew
