Bob is retiring as the U.S. Forest Service's project leader for traditional forestry skills. I can't wait to read his recently created ax book. Susan Jenkins will take his place.

Bob, my friend, you will love retirement. For those of you who dont know, Bob is my last friend at USFS to retire. He is the one responsible for the great axe posters. And he worked with me on "An Ax To Grind"

Bernie -- I've taught traditional tool workshops for the past 20 years and always feature your axe manual as part of the program. Speaking just for myself, I've introduced hundreds of people to "the way of the axe and saw". Given the wide availability of that product, you and Bob have certainly influenced countless others seeking to improve their axe and sawyer skills.
