Well I spent a good stretch last night searching all of BFC for information on Farid knives and have come up wanting, lol :) First best to explain. I saw these knives at the NYC show last year and gained an interest that has steadily grown over the months. To my regret I didn't spend much time at his table, where I could have had most of these questions answered.

The T1000 series was what he had on the table, however after searching the forums there was mention of a T5000. Needless to say the amount of information on either one of these knives was slim to none. Even worse was the continuation of bad luck with other knife sites. I like the design of the T1000 but would be greatly appreciative if someone could give me a full spec layout of it, and if possible the T5000. Found a few pics by Eric Blair and one or two other members, but not as much as I wanted. Does Farid have a website? couldn't find one if its out there. Did find an email address, however my email was returned as undeliverable. Guess the best thing is to list the questions I have, and see if anyone can help me answer them.

1)Is the term Vascomax the type of steel used for these knives, or simply the coating? If a coating what type of steel is used?

2)Are there multiple blade finishes? I've seen what looks to be a satin, and a black coat finish.

3)Specs...would very much like to get the overall specs for both the T1000 & T5000.

4)Bladeart has two T1000's listed, and one is listed as a T1000s. However the pics look the same. What does the "s" designate on his knives?

5)Some of the blades I've seen look to have clearly defined angle between the primary and secondary tanto edges. Others seem to have a curved intersection point between the two. Are these different design types?

6)Can anyone point me to a large variety of stored pics for these knives, or email me several of their personal knife?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

I don't know much about the T5000 either, but here's a photo that NCBlades posted.........

Check w/ RDT. He's a good lad & knows his blades. Here's a link: http://www.usualsuspect.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4368
Farid makes tank-tough knives, but he was a real jerk to me & had a couple of nasty things to say about BF a couple of years ago. He had just had his butt roasted by a couple of the "Usual Suspects" about what was perceived by some to be a design ripoff of Emerson's designs. I was looking at his knives @ the NYC show while wearing a BF nametag & he sniffed & referred to BF as a bunch of "self-appointed experts, I don't care what they think" (I never mentioned the Usual Suspects issue). He then ignored a civil, polite question I asked about his knives by turning his back to me. Perhaps he's a gentleman & a scholar who plants flowers & is nice to his mother, but I will never spend a penny for one of his knives. Your mileage may vary.
