I did this really spur of the moment. I was finally feeling good enough to walk around after being in pain most of the morning - please remember this unrehearsed and unprofessional to say the least - three different videos on you tube

i put it here because i wasn't sure abut putting it on the main page

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

please tell me what i should do different and i will try - next time i will set up for it before i start the film - thanks

Awesome stuff:) I couldnt hear it because i have the speakers down (baby napping on my lap).

I'm making this main page. :)

Congrats on your 1st review ever Big Eric. Did mine yesterday. Glad to hear that you're feeling a little better & not in pain. That [reference to gender orientation deleted] comment had me rolling, as I've watched a few of his video's. Good stuff but his voice is annoying & I can agree with you on how he sounds, lol

You split those pieces of wood without even really trying, hardest part was getting Jake out the way ;) I think you did very well & was straight to the point & you let the Farm Knife speak for itself. I thought that was great sharpening a pencil with it after splitting that wood. You'll only get better with your reviews with time.

Well Paulie that was an accident - like i said it was spur of the moment i didn't really mean to sound that harsh

You didn't sound harsh at all I just thought it was funny, spur of the moment things sometimes make the moment buddy

Dang, I haven't been around the HI forums for awhile now - been trying to resist DotD temptations as I save up for a custom order :p

Impromptu or not, that was an awesome review man! Like you said, that yew wasn't very steady, otherwise you would have been knocking out insane chunks with that blade - even so, that thing was taking out nice chips! Sweet job on splitting too - I was thinking the same thing as dirtypaulie when watching that section!

As an aside, when this knife started getting produced, I was really afraid that this design would end up being a "flavor of the month" blade and fade out after the initial interest. Pretty awesome to see it having such a following and still being a regular DotD item - I guess that speaks for the knife's versatility.

It's a real shame, but I think I lost my original sketch up of the design and only have the scan of it now :(

I ordered one a few days ago and I'm looking forward to getting it home.

Thanks for the review, chief.

Thanks guys - i will have to plan better next time - i had a rough morning and just threw it together, will try to figure out some kinda testing area / plan

the Farm knife is a great all around tool

Only suggestion I have for you is what i used to do in speech class for college.
Make notes of what you want to talk about. Simplify that by thinking of what you would want to see & hear about that particular product. Then let the product speak for itself

This review will give a lot of people a much better idea of what the farm knife style can do. Thanks for your effort in creating it for us.

You did ask about hints for next time, so: Please remember that we have all ages and sexes of visitors here, so it's best to use your "Sunday Church Meeting" vocabulary rather than the vocabulary many of us tend to use amongst ourselves in private. Best also to be careful of negative references to other reviewers. Even if joking they may be taken the wrong way and cause hard feelings, flame wars, etc.

Looking forward to the next review, and seeing more about how these tools are used in the field.

Thanks for the review mang!

I love watching it.

It was a pain trying to chop from an odd angle on that trunk off the fence, right?
Gotta watch out em' legs.

Have fun.

Loved it mate, great job. Good to see your pets as well, lovely guys. I agree with Howard about the derogatory language towards nutnfancy, but it doesn't mean I won't have a laugh about it either.:D

flame wars

that's funny - but probably in a different context ;)

if i could figure how to edit that out i would. It was a joke with my roommate - but i did cut it short - for example i didn't go into a long discussion about in a sandy desert

Good review, even if it was from an uneducated redneck. This " [reference to gender orientation deleted] " is impressed, with the knife.

oh and by the way -was not meant as a reference to sexuality but a reference to those that are pusillanimous

pusillanimous - short dictionary version - cowardly

pusillanimous - encyclopedic dictionary version - small minded - weak willed - devoid of spine - cowardly

so if you would rather me use the word spineless go ahead and swap it mentally

its all ok

Gentlemen, I'm going to figure out how to use the "edit anyone" functions and clean up the references to gender orientation in this thread. Some of the terms used here in a joking manner might be hurtful to other forumites or to visitors wandering in here.

ps i was/am in a lot of pain when i made the video -was the best i had been all day - hence my humor may have been a little off
