Can anyone give a detailed comparison or at least note the differences between these two blades? All I can tell is that the Farm Knife seems to have a wider blade and the handles are different. Anything else? Also a description of what tasks each is better suited for would be great. Thanks and good vibrations to you all.

That's about it, honestly. I have not handled the Farmcata, but that appears to be the main difference. The Farm Knife was the first one to come along. The Farmcata is basically a Farm Knife blade mated with a Falcata handle, although the blade tends to be a little more narrow in regards to belly. I adore the Farm Knife:) However, I think the Farmcata may be even more versatile with the given modifications.

In short, both are pretty dang awesome:)

"Awesome" is the perfect adjective! I was thinking the same about the Farmcata maybe being more versatile. I also prefer the look of a little less belly. In short...I think I "need" a Farmcata, my brother "needs" a Farm Knife and we both NEED more funds. :)

If anyone knows how to put up a picture of each of these to compare that would be awesome as well. I've no idea of how to do it myself or the pics would've been included in my last post. Thanks!!!

In the short time I've had it, I've become a strong believer in the merits of the Farm Knife.

Not quite as massive as many other HI models, but what it lacks in heft it makes up for in bite and versatility. I've used mine both to split kindling and to dice up my supper. :D

Thanks for saving me the trouble, ST!

In my opinion the Farm Knife is a far sexier beast... also, the handle/blade juncture is probably more solid I'd wager.

BUT, Tedwca takes a better photo, hands down. :D
