have a camper that i like and am quite fond of but theres something about that farmer. they are roughly the same tool set, so im interested in size differences.

how do they compare in thickness, weight, ergonomics. any ideas would b great. im probably going to buy the other anyway but i would be good to get an idea.

thanks.

The keyring on the Farmer tends to dig into your hand. The Camper also has a keyring, but it is lower profile and smoother, so it's more comfortable.

Of course, the Camper weighs less, but I believe it's thicker. The Farmer is a hair over half an inch. My Camper is not at hand so I don't know its thickness.

Finally, the alox scales on the Farmer make it a lot sturdier. The cellidor on the Camper holds tweezers and toothpick, which can come in handy.

At the risk of incurring much wrath :) I would favor the Camper: not as painful to hold, tweezers/toothpick, weight advantage, and sturdy enough though not as much as the farmer.

I love my farmer, but I sometimes wish they made it with a set of tweezers. I like the blade size on the farmer better than on my other SAKs. My farmer is always in my pocket no matter what other knife I am carrying. The lanyard ring has not been an issue ( I have been carrying it for a little over a year) as of yet. However this has been a concern for some others on here. It is a concern for you then I would suggest just grinding it off.

The Farmer is awesome. I was looking for an edc that I could also head right out on a hike with, and the Farmer is it. The lanyard ring is in a weird spot, and can dig your palm if held tightly. The thickness is very close to the Camper, with the Farmer being slightly heavier. But it also is more robust feeling which I like.

my camper is about 5/8" thick which would make it thicker than the farmer.

does anyone have a side by side pic?

No, it tends to dig into your hand - never had that problem myself! ;)

I've had a Farmer in my rear pocket forever. It's thin, indestructible, handy...I have a pair of Photon Freedom microlights clipped onto the keyring with those little snap rings Photon sells (they've never come loose by accident, btw). A great combination.
