Farmer Market 1$ Knives

Got em both for a buck! Any Idea when they were made? 60's? Is there a build along on how to install a new bail when the pin holes only go through the scales not the entire knife? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Nice scores for a buck!!

The bail was likely a "C" shaped piece of springy wire that snapped into the holes. The holes don't have to go through much for a well-fitted bail to stay in place!

I at least once made a bail by snipping the ends off a finish nail and bending it with the aid of a propane torch. Probably bent the hooks on the ends first so they'd be cool when they went in.
