It seems that the future many of us have only dreamed about is becoming reality faster than the speed of light. No, im not talking about televisions, phones, and internet which were all amazing and innovate leaps that have brought us to this point.

Citys reaching to the clouds, flying vehicles, digital advertising that knows what YOU like, robots cleaning your house and making you dinner.

All of this is on the horizon and I dont know exactly how to feel about it. It is cool to see in the movies, but it is becoming more than just a fantasy, its becoming reality:

Im just wondering how people here feel about the future, youngsters and old heads alike. Do you embrace it with open arms or are you terrified of some of the consequences that will come with our technological advancement at such an astronomical rate.

I can live without stairs that give you a seizure.

But, as far as the future in general goes I am looking forward to technological advances. I really want a working light saber and if those stairs get us one step closer to having the technology to make it happen then bring it on.

That is an awesome knife.

I would like to see things go primitive again, at least for a few months. Hopefully that will inspire people to appreciate the simple things.


Then bring on the LIGHT SABER. :D
 
Garth- they alerady have laser scaples so the light saber is here. However, you are limited to how much extension cord you can carry:)

I'm professionally anticipating future technologies :) The only fear I have is that people forget to switch their brains on because of all the technology around them. A light saber would be cool though :thumbup:
 
I'm with Hindsight . Although I accept technology , I think a roll back to more primitive times would be good for the world . For the first time in history technology is advancing at faster higher rate than people can adapt to it .

This was brought into perspective to me a short while ago when I watched a documentry about the revolution taking place in todays technology . As we all know our world has changed more in the past 100 years or so than it has in all the time man has been on earth . Now here the scary part . In this documentry they said that at the speed of our technology today , the world will change by ONE THOUSAND times more in the next 100 years than it did in the last 100 .

I don't know about you , but I find that hard to even get my head around . Being that the car , the plain , space travel , the computer , television and a million other things basically didn't even exist 100 years ago . So fellow Hogs you might as well use your best knives and use them hard because by the time your grand kids get them it's probably going to be punishable by death to chop at any of the trees that will be left . Now there's a cheery thought .

Agreed. Too much technology in the wrong hands can be a dangerous thing.

But a light saber in my hands would be AWESOME.
