Fasteners for Kydex besides rivets

I generally see rivets and/or eyelets used to join two pieces of kydex together when making a knife sheath. I know that this type of fastener provides a place to add a line through to in turn attach to another object.

Are there any other type of fasteners for Kydex that anyone recommends that is not so large? I was just wondering if there were examples to be seen that use other fasteners that would provide a more narrow sized sheath.

I have stitched kydex with wire to make a very low profile sheath, but it is pritty time consuming and takes a lot of practice to get all the holes lined up.

I've seen a sheath made with glue - sorry, I didn't catch what sort. One side is cut smaller, than the edges of the larger side were heated and folded over, with glue to finish the bond.
