Faster action on the Native?

Hi, I just bought my girlfriend a stainless steel native II and I was wondering how to smoothen the action more so it opens faster. I put some Tuf-Glide in the action and it smoothened it out somewhat but is there an even better way to do it? Thanks.

There's always the obvious answer: open and close it a lot. Obvious or not that's always the biggest smoother-outer for me. I just got a full size Calypso in plain edge last week and it was a little rough (don't know if it was the micarta or the VG-10). I just started carrying it around with me everywhere I went, opening and closing. Gets you in the groove too although it can start to annoy your co-workers! Several hundred times over several days WILL make a difference!

Apply a small bit of metal polish such as Flitz brand (the best IME) on the ricasso area on both sides and work it in with the usual opening and closing action. The friction of opening and closing will "polish" the rough spots. It will take some time before you feel improvement so do it while watching your favorite video or such. Be sure to flush it out thoroughly and apply your favorite lube as usual. Repeat procedures if necessary.

Great tip Nakano. I'm going to try it.
