Fat bevel

So ive got a crkt shenanigan that wont get sharp on my sharpmaker cause the bevel is too abrupt. Im using a lansky at 20 dps but the bevel is uneven and almost 30 degrees near the tip so the bevel is starting to get pretty big, and I dont want to screw up the blade so what am I doing wrong? I have had this problem before, do I need to take more steel off the other side to even it out?

There's nothing you're necessarily doing wrong, it was a manufacturing error that's very common on budget knives.
