Who would want to see a fatter version (.20+ blade thickness) version of the BK-7 and BK-9 ?
As much as I love these knives I think that they would be even better with thicker blades.

I have A BK-7 & a BK-9, made by Camillus & the BK-7 is 3/16", & the BK-9 is .210 thick. I have a new BK-9 & it is 3/16". I cant tell alot of difference when chopping, between the BK-9s. both are so sharp that they cut very well. I like them both.

I also have A BK-7 & a BK-9, made by Camillus.I like what k-bar has done with them.a thinner BK2 would have been bad very bad.now a 5/16'' Bk9 would be good very good.

you'd think a thinner BK2 would be bad.. but as far as I know, the BK-10 combat crewman (5 1/2 inch blade, and same thickness as the BK7/9) sold very well.

the BK10 was made to be what it is it's a tough knife. But a BK2 thinner would still be tough.it would not be able to derail a train then it wouldn't be known as THE BECKER TRAIN WRECKER! say it with me in the rythm of a train.
BECKER TRAIN WRECKER BECKER TRAIN WRECKER BECKER TRAIN WRECKER
BECKER TRAIN WRECKER BECKER TRAIN WRECKER BECKER TRAIN WRECKER
WHOOOOO!! WHOOOOO!!!!! see what I mean? the BK2 is a ultra heavy duty
hardcore knive.if it were thinner I believe it would limit the range of it's
usefulness.:)

I only currently own a Becker Camillus Patrol Machete. However I plan on getting a Ka-Bar BK-9 or two depending on the price. In my opinion only it isn't a knife that I see as being a super tough knife that can handle tons of abuse, and I would still think of it that way even if it was thicker. But if there are other reasons besides a tougher blade then sure it might be a good thing. I would use a Busse knife (with my own re handle job) or a Custom from my favorite maker or a Fehrman Knife in 3V, if I were looking to get an all around you can't break me knife. Just my very humble opinion.

Regarding the thinner BK2, my Camillus is .210. They were widely advertised as .250, but mine is not so. I understand the original Blackjack Becker BK2s were .250 also. Nice to see them return to full thickness.

i'd love to own a full flat grind bk9 with a 5/16" spine. i could chop a lincoln navigator in half with a blade like that. well, maybe not. but it'd make for one heck of a blade!

5/16'' with a full flat grind would be sweet. The current BK2-9 is already overkill for me, but I'd still buy an updated one. haha

And I'd also like to remove the top "thumb ramp" that has the gimping. Either way I'm still happy with my BK9 and BK2. I was looking to get a Ranger RD9 just to have a similar blade to the BK9 but thicker.

Re-introduce the BK-10 with thicker steel and in a good stainless flavor (like a 440C). That woudl be just about perfect.

might as well go all out, and have a 1/2 inch thick BK09. oh yeah ;)

1/2 inch!
Tom

i took 4 kabar BK09s and bolted them together with spacers to get a monster thick blade. think of it like those fancy razor cartridges with the multiple cutting strips ;) if 1 if good, more is better, and 4 is more!

as a bonus, i can take it apart, sharpen it, or even adjust the blade count. in a few months, i might decide that 5 is better, or even 7. yah.
