Hi,
Just finished this one and not sure if it's a camp knife, a fighter, or a little of both.

6" Flat ground, convex edge, full distal taper, clay treated 1084 blade
Blued mild steel fittings
Hidden tang Desert Ironwood burl handle
11.5" Over all length

Thanks,
Dave

Pretty nice this one!
Very good incredients to the package and very well assembled!

I like the hamon a lot!

I like that piece a lot. Looks comfy to use. And I think that "mill grain" and groove on the guard really adds something to the aesthetics.

Personally I'd lean more toward calling it a camp style- it doesn't have the point I feel is needed in a "fighter". And there ain't a thing wrong with that. No need to try making it out as something it ain't for the tacticle crowd.

Along them same lines, it irks me when I see folks selling "Bowie Knives" with four or five inch blades. Just call it a clip point hunter/utility/whatever. No shame in that. I guess they can get a couple hundred extra bucks if it's a bowie or somethin'.

Thanks again!

possum, until you mentioned tactical I didn't even think of it, even with my mention of fighter. Before I tapered the blade it definitely felt more like a blade heavy camp but now has a quicker, lighter fighter feel to it. It's a little light for heavy choppin' and it's not a typical fighter so I'll just call it a mid-weight utility camp :)

Dave,
Sweet.
Gotta' agree with the possum on not having the point to be called a fighter,
or the length.
Camp/utility sounds right for this one.
Nice ergo's on that fine DI handle and like MM mentioned the guard complements the hardening line/hamon very well.

Doug

Edited to add: May be long enough,I just like mine a bit larger. :)

Sorry for the delay, I wanted to do some research before replying.

Something I should've done before making the fighter reference, the possum, Doug, thanks for bringing this to my attention!! I also learned some other valuable info. while I was researching!

Meant to say, Hi, Just finished this mid sized utility camp knife :foot: :)

Thanks Emanuel!

I like everything about this one, from the blade shape to the blued guard to the terrific wood handle. Well done.
