Tomorrow is Fat Tuesday, and if you're anything like me you'll be enjoying as many of those crazy Polish pastries called Paczkis as you can. :D I think I love them more than beer. :foot:

Just look at them, how could you not love them?
The day after Fat Tuesday starts Lent, and with Lent comes giving things up for forty days. I'm attempting to give up soda, fast food/junk food, and profanity. :eek: It's supposed to be a challenge, right? :cool: Who all is going to enjoy a few fatty paczkis? Are any of you giving anything up for Lent?
 
Paczkis....never heard of em. So.....sounds like the perfect thing to give up:D
 
Not giving anything up myself, but starting P90X tonight. Time I finally got in shape :) Good luck on your goals and you can accomplish them! Tip: If you get mad as someone, just say "Bless their heart". Apparently that's southern for "They're a bit slow" :D ;) And haven't tried those sandwiches either
 
Nah, giving nothing up. I'm not Catholic(or Eastern Orthodox), but I may eat to much tomorrow just for the heck of it.
 
I'm not giving up anthing, but I am FAT for the entire week, not just on Tuesdays :)
 
"Bless your heart" can be interpreted loosely as "you can't help it, can you, poor thing". Typically used by the ladies, it is an old southern insult or a truly sympathetic statement, depending upon the context. The great thing about it is that the one at whom it is directed suspects, but doesn't really know, which is intended, so if they take umbrage at it they have essentially conceded defeat. The only proper response is, "aren't you too kind", the translation of which I can't give on a family-oriented forum but which involves an anatomically impossible operation.
 
How are you going to give up saying profanities, Valentine's day is Thursday?

Are those pastries cream filled? I've never had them, but they look good.

Paczkis rule! Thanks to the large local Polish population, they're everywhere here. I'm finishing mine off today and swearing off any new INFI until the SHBM comes up for order.
 
Paczkis are delicious! I've had two so far today :D:thumbup: DanBo, they are filled with whatever donut filling you would like. I ordered a few with raspberry and a few with Bavarian cream
 
If they're so delicious, you all must now bring some to Blade so us folks left out can experience them. :D :p
 
Lora brought me one in this morning. . . .It is the FIRST time I ever had one and MAN! It was amazing. . . . :thumbup: Thank you Lora for making my morning a wonderful and delicious one :thumbup:

Jason, I'm perfectly okay with eating fish on Fridays for a little over a month. :D Fish Fry Fridays are fun
