Well! Not exactly; Katelyn is Justin's eight year old daughter. They took to the mat during a break in the action Thursday evening. It was the last, of eleven hundred plus classes, over twelve years, that were held at this small Shuri Ryu dojo.
Wanting to finish in style, we awarded two black belts that evening.
If you will take a close look, you will see that all the youngsters in the yellow belt pic, except one, stayed an earned there sho dan rank. You can see them in the picture, taken on Thursday. It was a five year program; the older members, in the back row were here for eight to ten years. We had a great time and they learned much. Out of the eleven people who were awarded there black belts, here, nine stayed and continued to train.
With the added, two days a week, I hope to make a few more knives.:thumbup:
