Picked up this axe (one of three) from my father-in-law. They were his father's but were in the barn unhung (but probably previously used). This one's a 2.5#er. I think it's a Kelly Woodslasher (from eye ribs).

Cleaned up nice using a angle grinder with flap sander pads and I ground and chamfered the poll a small bit.

Spent a bit last night and this morning working on hanging it. I put it on a 24" ash handle (made locally in Maine). I like the way it came out.

Very nicely done yet once again! Family heirloom I'd say!

By the way, you've got excellent results with Ash over Hickory? Just curious.

That's a really nice job. Great photo with tractor in background. I especially like what you have done with the poll. Just a good tidy-up without going crazy. She looks like the type of axe that could be used all day.

e-gads. I painted an axe handle. I'll probably be banned from this forum. :D
