I'm having some trouble deciding on a good gentleman's folder for my father. Medium size, any weight, any lock, steel should be AUS8 or better. $100 is the limit. He does Real-Estate management and meets people a lot, so sheeple-friendly is desired(if there is such a thing)

What would you, or did you get your Dad?

What about a Boker Exskelibur or the Exskelimoor - both beautiful knives. I'm waiting on the Exskelibur, if I like it enough I'll go for the higher end one.

I got this for my father in law... He's into improvising ;)

Hi jay2pointoh -

I would look at a nice Vic in Alox.

They are quality in feel, and you can select one that will be handy for someone in real-estate that may need a small screwdriver or what not in addition to a decent blade, all in a lightweight package that is very people-friendly.

I bought my dad and step-dad Case peanuts in the red pocketworn style and they both LOVED them, and still carry them today *(well, my father does, my stepfather passed away and I have his pocket knife back in my possession).

Whatever you choose will be a gift from you and will be well received.

best regards -

A Mcusta would fit very well (I believe) in that price range.

So would a Spyderco Kiwi (if you can find it), or a Case of some sort.

+ on the EXskelibur or Exskelimoor. Lovely stuff. You can choose between a big and a small model and probably the small one is perfect for his gentlemeny needs
Or, indeed, simply a good classic Victorinox alox Pioneer (and give a box of good wine with the spare money)

A nice swayback jack or gent from Case.

 I would get him the Case Swayback Jack because it has a main wharncliffe blade that's big enough for most jobs and then a small blade to use when other people are around, not too mention it's close to flawless fit and finish. I would go for the Chestnut CV steel model.

I think a Victorinox Cadet is a nice and very affordable gentleman folder and can be found in several colors. A bit more expensive option would be the Fällkniven U2, but I don't know how much that costs over there in the USA.

I received a Benchmade 440 last year (for about $125) and love it. If $100 is absolutely your limit, I like the Case Swayback mentioned above or a nice Case Stag Copperlock / Mini-Coppelock.

How about an A G Russell Featherlite Folder or a Fallkniven U2 Good Luck. Kevin

Just purchased a Sage II for my Dad. I love the hell out of my Sage I, and what better excuse to snag the second installment? I'm thinking he'll be psyched.
