I got two great fathers day gifts.

1- My youngest (9) daughter, I babtized her.

2- My 11 year old daughter spoke some sweet words to me she said " Dad can I Make A Knife"

Look out folks I have four little ones and they all hang in Dads shop and they all like blades. Can't wait to post the pics in a couple of weeks.

Sweetest part I did not push anything on them they come about it on their own.

Proud papa just rattling I am done now.

Heck yea I invented it ...What is it???
I only do what the voices in my wifes head tell me to do.
It's kinda like hangin, you never get used to it.

You should be proud. We all like our children to want to follow in our footsteps. Of course the wife doesn't much like that but they learn to live with it.

Good luck

Jonesy;

You got a good set there...keep'em!! It's hard to get a set that not only likes to hang with Dad but gets interested enough to give it a go!

My little guy gets totally freaked when he sees me in the shop! Of course if I saw me in respirator, goggles, ear protection, coveralls and gear, I'd get pretty freaked out as well! He doesn't run screaming into the woods anymore but he's still a bit skittish

He digs out the knife I made him for his fifth birthday (a few weeks ago) and plays with it to get the feel for it when I'm around and he's starting to get the idea that knives are "for" something other than what Dad does to them in the shop. He sees me use my blades for everything around the house and sometimes at work so he's starting to get a glimmer of potential.

My only concern at this point in time is that his younger sister may become the focus of his attention the next time he is driven to distraction from her teasing. For now, knives are a guy thing when the ladies of the house are AWOL.

Wish you All the Best

Jonesy,
My 10 year old daughter just finished her first knife for her doll. She did all the blade work with files and loved every minute of it. Was good "quality time" with the daughter. Enjoy it when it happens!!!
She's already talking about her next one. Look out, I see a barbie tactical knife on it's way.
