Hi guys!

I just ordered a CS Riflemans Hawk and a CS Spike Hawk. The RH should be a present for my dad as a fathers-day-present. He saw my CS Trail Hawk and wanted something bigger. So I ordered just right now the CS RH for him and the CS SH for me. I use the TH for light-lumber-work like removing darr branchets from fell trees and so on... Something I don´t wanna use with my chainsaw. The hawk is carried on the belt so I have it always at my side during work. A big bonus in comparison to an axe. An axe always lays around anywhere but never where it´s needed ;) (my experience)

Would you give something like this to your dad?
Which experiences do you have with the RH?

Kind regards
Andi

I think it would be a great gift, one I'd be very happy to get from my kids. Are you planning to do any modding to them? I just finished that TH modding thread and am chomping at the bit to order a couple of hawks.

Yeah, I gonna get some modding on it. But nothing about making it more beautiful, but more practical. I gonna add a handle, which has the form of a hatchet handle. Just as I did at my TH. Dad wouldn´t use it as a tomahawk as well, just as a little hatchet which is carried on the belt while working in the woods. I made a belt for myself with a nailpouch, where you can put in your gloves or marking-pens and a metre-scala. A ring to put the hawk in it would also be part of that belt for dad... :)

I´m sure he would like it. Always look a little bit jelaous at my belt. That´s something practial I wanna give to him.

Kind regards

A great gift, no doubt. What's not to love about that!!!?? I gave my dad an axe for Christmas, so I guess I would give my dad a gift like that!

The order delivered today!

Now I gonna add a hatchet handle on the TH and I´ll do some modding at the SH. The coating on the SH will be removed, I think... ;)

Kind regards
Andi

Well, I made one for my Trail Hawk. But dad will get it on the Riflemans Hawk, which arrived today.

I gonna get a better pic, with the TH-hatchet-handle and the RH-hatchet-handle, when I made it.

It´s not a beauty, but it works pretty well. The handle is thicker, so it doesn´t hurt during longer work. On the regular handle, that was problem. So used that Trail Hawk hardly. But after adding that new handle, the hawk fits like a glove in hands.

Great tool.

Kind regards

Well, here are actual pics of my CS Trail Hawk (The handle cracked, so I fixed it with some structure-tape), my modded CS Spike hawk and the RH (modding this one is work for another day)
