He told me " I have too many knives already " ( he has less than me and I don't think he has enough) , maybe I should just get him nothing so next year he will be happy to get another Buck knife :D

I believe he'll still love and appreciate another Buck knife if I still buy him one anyway, but since he said he doesn't want another one I may think of something else.

Possibly a wooden display box for my grandfather's service related things like his unit patch and such, but the temptation to but him another Buck knife is pretty strong :D
He likes knives but maybe not quite as much as I do, I never leave the house without one and he no longer carry one unless he knows he'll need it.
It's not like the purpose of a pocket knife is to always have a knife on you when you need it, no that would be too sensible :D

Would you still buy them another Buck knife anyways?

I am 59 and have 3 boys. More than a gift I prefer my boys to spend some time with me or for them to help with a chore or two around the house that I haven't got around to.
Or a card with a heart felt message written by them personally. Either one of those 2 things would be the best gift they could give me. Another one would be just to have a great
Fathers Day dinner together with them all.

But if they were to get me a gift a Buck knife would be tops on my list.

The wooden display case for his Fathers things would be very special as well.

Just my preferences.

nope. listen to your old man. some folks only want one or two and that's it.
Yeah, I decided to go a different route.
He has a few dozen knives with only a handful being quality knives which I bought him, but he said he didn't want another knife so I'm going to wait till next year when he may be ready for another one.
I ordered him some US ARMY PT shorts and a moisture wicking ARMY PT T-shirt to go with it.
He should love these for lounging around the house this summer.
Too bad I didn't realize till after ordering though that I could have gotten a 4 pack of the T- shirts for just a few dollars more than the 1 costed :(
Oh well, I can always order those another time just because :D

I'm sure he would have been happy to have shorts and a T-shirt for PT during his 12 years instead of having to do it in BDU's.

Now he'll have Some real US ARMY clothing to wear that's not 30-40 years old and worn out.

Maybe a pocket slip or a sheath to go with his favorite knife. Or a nice tooled leather belt and a sheath. Lol

Whenever he needs a sheath for something he just asks me and I make it for him, at this point I think he's pretty much covered there.

A nice belt is gonna happen at some point, but I've gotta get better at my leather work first :D
