Fatwood "getter"

The power Co fell some fir trees that were in their right of way.I got up this morning and took advantage of trees on the ground.i skid them with my Ford 3/4 ton truck.I was pondering how to skid this big one,and in front of it was this big snag.I cut into it with my trusty Husky chain saw and it was apparent that it was pretty solid.Then I smelled the stump and it was my first ever fatwood.Well i gave the log a jerk and it pulled the stump out of the ground.I couldn"t lift it into my truck,pretty heavy.So I got my fatwood getter.My Bobcat with a grappler bucket.What a killer deal for getting my fatwood out of the ground.:)It is pretty easy to ID,and I dug 3 more in the next half hour BONANZA
I guess I won't be buying any more.This piece weighs 100+ pounds and I have 3 more that are bigger than this one.Happy.

Don't let Bushman5 see this thread or he will get ideas. He already consumes over 100 pounds of fatwood monthly. Imagine how much he would get with a Bobcat! We wouldn't see him ever post again, but the news would have a story about a gigantic house fire in Ontario that the fire dept cannot extinguish.

lol. i have to agree that is the way to do stuff. how long did you wait after they cut them down. i been eyeing a stump that is big like that and its been down for about 4-5 months now. i keep thinking f it i will just go take it but i don't want to waste it
