Fatwood & Scat

I just found the largest mass of fatwood in one spot that I have ever seen today.

On it I found this. Seems that a fox may have chosen the crotch of this tree as his restroom when he is in these parts. At that point the surface of the log is about 5.5 feet off the ground.

In this pic it's in the upper right, the handle of the knife is almost pointing at it.

Then close by there was deer sign too.

OMG!!! get the chainsaw and start processing that beauty! I bet the heartwood is massively fatwoody!

Yeah, it's a heck of a lot of fatwood, I brought home a couple of limb sections bigger than my arms...but I already have a lot of fatwood out back already. I think I'll just leave that there for now...it's only a ten minute walk out my back door.
