Went for a morning hike to find some fatwood. Went to a new to me 3,000 state park about 15 minutes from our house. Loved it. Very wet though but plenty of downed trees.

Nice trails, if you stayed on them

I however did not, and this is what I was contending with

After kicking a bunch of rotten stumps, one kicked back!

I'm loving the BK2.

I am also slowly becoming a hatchet man so I think it will be time to move from the cheap-O camp axe to an Eastwig or something like that. I am learning how to do things more efficiently although I love swinging around the larger bladed survival knives.

The BK2 has just been such a great addition to my gear. Such a stout knife that can tackle medium to larger chores. Very nice to carry and just takes a pounding.

The BK2 with a Mora make a great combo and then I always have a blade on the Gerber multitool (soon to be a Leatherman) and also my EDC... I am also going to get a SAK Hunter soon. But the BK2 continues to perform so well. I love it.

Cool pics, and nice haul.

You miss a lot if you stay strictly on the trails.
