What's your favorite book about knives and why? Maybe we should compile a listing of great knife books.

Addendum: What's the best article you ever read about knives?

Hoodoo

The low, hoarse purr of the whirling stone—the light-press’d blade,
Diffusing, dropping, sideways-darting, in tiny showers of gold,
Sparkles from the wheel.

Walt Whitman

I'm sure there are tons of more up to date books, but Christmas, 1974 my dad gave me a copy of Sid Lathams "Knives and Knifemakers". It's the book that really sparked my interest in knives. I still have it. I've read it so many times, some of the pages are falling out. I've got others, but that's my favorite, for many reasons, handsdown.

The best book on knives I've ever read is Ed Fowler's Knife Talk. Which also qualifies as the best article on knives, since the book is, among other things, a compilation of some of his best articles.

Actually, I should add a second book, or rather series of books, Knives Points of Interest 1-5. Get Fowler's book for a good read, and KPOI for pretty pictures.
