Favored blade

After carrying various slipjoints for the last few months Ive determined that I most often carry and use the knives in my collection that have a Wharncliffe or a sheepsfoot blade. The Wharncliffe being my first choice. I didnt think I would carry the 2012 Forumn knife that often but I find its sitting in my pocket most days..even with dress pants! Followed by my Hayn Helper two blade as a close second.

So what is your favored blade?

For most routine daily tasks I like either a sheepfoot or a small modified wharncliffe (zulu) style pen blade like I have on my stock knives or which Case puts on the Texas Jack.

For most of my life the answer would have been clip, but since I have been carrying stockman knives this year I am leaning toward sheepsfoot.

I cut leather all day every day so I use a Wharncliffe and sheepsfoot. I do love the big leaf shaped master on my new Charlies Harness knife.

Best regards

Robin

I prefer a Clip point or a spear point before all the others... I use my knives just for cutting in general, so these blades are my favorite.

I don´t get warm with a wharncliffe somehow - a sheepfoot is another tale - that´s a bladeshape I really like :)

I'd have to say... a clip blade and a wharncliffe. The wharncliffe
trapper is about the best EDC hands down...imho

honestly, the most used blade on my knives tends to be a the small pen or small sheepsfoot. Most of my cutting involves small random tasks like opening boxes/packages, scraping something, or other random small tasks.

The other big use my blades see is food prep on picnics or cutting fruit, etc. For that I prefer a nice sized clip or drop point.

I agree wholeheartedly! :thumbup::thumbup:

i have always preferred a good clip point
but recent pics have me considering a good spear point (gotta have pen secondary though if its a 2+ blade model) :P

I mostly carry a clip, but do a spear on occasion. The jack's combo of clip and pen is my go-to combo.

Drop point, on my AG Russell Rancher. This blade shape is classic and wide and ready for work.

Favourite is a recurve,particularly in this steel (52100) with thin geometry= slicer....second would be a sheepsfoot.........FES
