My question here, what do you all own/carry from Surefire and what’s your favorite? Specify if what you carry is for duty carry as a LEO/EMT/Fire/Military or if it's for personnel carry.

I bought a Surefire 8NX with the Nitrolon body for a backup flashlight on my duty belt and the thing rocks, wish it would last longer than about an hour but still not bad for such brightness and rechargeable. The only other thing I wish about it is that you could switch it on from the tail, not just momentarily like it is but completely on. But when I think about it I guess if it did it could be cut on by accident while on a duty belt.

I have been thinking of buying a smaller Surefire for off duty carry, looking for suggestions.

Depends, how much light do you need? If a E2 will cut it then you will not find a better little light, if you need more then maybe a 6P or if you like shock isolation a M2. I would go with either a M2 or 6P, then you have alot of light in a small package and the ability to add more options than a E series, such as adding a A19 adaptor and then running a P91 to get up to 225L. And the ability to add a Turbohead. But if the E2 will do then i would get it, it is smaller than a 6P/M2.

6P, G2, E1HA - and an E2e HA on the way with a KL1 assembly

6P Personal carry [E1HA for wife's handbag(purse)], G2 in car
Not sure about the E2e yet

You can buy a clickie switch for some of the SF lights. Like this one

E2e is popular - which is what I've been bullied into :) - with the KL1 it should run about 4 hours...

Well, it's kinda hard for me to just pick one Sure Fire. For EDC, I have an E2e-HA with the KL1 LED head on there. I also like to carry one of my two M3's - one has the regular tunsten lamps and the other has the KL2 LED head on there.

Smaller SF for off duty carry? There are many good choices. I also like the M2. 6 volt light with pocket clip, shock isolated bezel. The G2Z is also a great carry model. Same lamp and body design as the Z2 Combatlight but at a cheaper price due to the G2Z's molded Nitrolon body and bezel. I really like how light weight the G2Z is. I know some guys who swear by the E1e/KL1 combo because you get about the same output as my E2e + KL1 with a more compact size. Then you have other 6 volt lights like the D2, C2, Z2, 6P, and E2. IMO the 6 volt SF lights offer the best of both worlds - light power and ease of carry.

if you want "constant on", you have to take the little metal lanyard ring off the body. That lets the back screw down a little more to give you "constant on" capability.

As someone who owns the E1/K1, 6P, M2, M3, M6, and 10X.. I'd have to recommend the G2Z as the EDC light. You have a choice of P60 or P61 lamps, the nitrolon serves as a kind of shock isolation, you have the combat grip, pyrex lense, lockout tailcap, it's light weight, and it's a perfect fit in the Ripoffs CO-30 holster. :D

Anyone own a 10X911 it's that 500-dollar 500-lumen badboy, I've been staring at it for several months buuuut geez 500 bucks! I want one though. Anyone had any experience with it?

I don't consider any of the non-rechargeable acceptable for my use, just to many batteries to go through, I would have to change batteries daily, so I tend to go for rechargeable models or the one that can be upgraded to rechargeable.

Uh, yup, I have the 10X. I really like it a lot. I have the 110 lumens secondary lamp in there, and it's great for most uses. At any moment, I can crank it up to full power and it's just blinding. Rechargeable is the best part. No worries about eating through batteries any more. Also, the light is just as white as my lithium lights.

Funny thing though. I waited 11 months backorder for it (only paid $245 for mine though! ;)) while Surefire worked out some bugs in the high power main lamp assembly. And then, just last week, my main lamp stopped working. Put in the spare, and that one blew too! :o The horror!

However, Surefire tech support is awesome. They sent me two new lamps in the mail and it's been trouble free since.

I've got a 10X that I use more than the rest of my other lights combined - the rechargable batteries really make that much of a difference. Its slim profile make it an easy carry in my jeans back pocket when I'm out walking the dogs. That and I like having the Sun at hand. :D

Hmm Spark how big is that 10X I had in my head it was the size of maybe a 3d mag, don't know where I got the idea from though. You said it slips in your back pocket? thats great! if it's a smaller size I want it more now uhg!

Length-wise, it's about a 3D. However, the battery/handle portion is quite narrow, so it'll fit in a back pocket for sure. The bezel is kinda thick, but overall, it's got a surprisingly good feel in the hand. Very nice indeed.

I have an original 'Laser Products' 6P with a P61 lamp that I use most. Most of the finish is gone, it's all dented up, but still works fine. I have some newer Surefires too, but I always have this one with me, in the front pocket.

It uses the same bulb as any of the other 9 Volt SureFires so I'd say you're pretty safe.
Are you getting a used or a new one?
It's been off the market for years (replaced by the D3) but I just heard that SureFire is selling them again.
Either that or someone is selling old stock with an updated LOTC.

i like my M3 a lot
pretty portable, fits nicely into the 3 mag pouch from blackhawk
i'll probably be getting the M6 once my pocket recovers :D

i have M2 & M3, i love them. The M2 is my EDC now. And waiting on my
KL3.I love the M series the best.
