What is your favorite blade shape - forget length, make, or model.
Why?

Your opinion of intended purpose of that blade shape?

Drop point, with clip point close behind. Seems that the drop point is very versatile.

I'm not exactly sure what you call this blade shape. Both of my favorites, the Dozier Straight Hunter and Spyderco Military, have a fairly good upsweep to a nice pointy tip, with no drop or clip on the spine.

I agree with Big Bad Wolf...drop or clip point with a little recurve.

Recurve, like that on the Smith & Wesson HRT(DR)...Man, that bad-boy CUTS!.:).

my favorite would probably be something like a loveless drop point hunter. I also like recurves like on the mayo TnT.

Like most BFC folks I prefer the drop and clip points. However, there's another one that hasn't been mentioned and I'm frankly quite surprised. That other style is the warncilffe (I know there are several ways it is spelled). I think it definitely has a place in this discussion. Warnie blades make for great EDCs.

Clip-point recurve.

I love the combination of a sharp point with lots of belly. And the inner curve can perform many hawkbill tasks too.

Buzzbait, I would call that a skinning fool! Nice knife with great belly. I like a mild clip or drop. It is a compromise (as always) that leaves good belly but puts the point closer to center for tip control.

I don't do any hunting, so I prefer either a wharncliffe with a modest upsweep toward the top (think Michael Walker) or spearpoint (no - not a drop point - a spearpoint!).

Oh, and when were talking blade shapes we love but don't really need or use - then an exaggerated classic bowie shape (heavily clipped/trailing point).

Halfway between a drop and Spear point.
Like a Drop point with a small false edge.
Just a little bigger than a swedge.
BTW CRKs swedges are cool too.

I love the clip point. The leaf shape blade on the LUM Chinese is cool too, and so is the wharnecliffe, although I have no wharnecliffe's at the moment.
