Hey guys,

Just got my new(to me) Bucklite 444 to go with my 442 and 446 Goliath(aptly named). Two questions: 1) are there anymore of this design? 2) what range of years were they produced? Of all the Bucklites Ive seen, these are by far my favorite design.

My wife carries a 444 in her purse. I gave a 444 to the TV satilite repairman on Saturday both 444's my wife picked up at the Buck offsite sale. I have a 446 Goliath I got off the bay it is huge I will most likely never carry it. The 446 is fun to handle because it is so big but still light weight. I do not really know any history on these type knives. Hope you enjoy yours.

Thanks LB, I will. the 444 is just right for my daughter but since its a 100th aniv addition, it'll see lite carry time and box opening duty at best.
Your right about the 446, its huge. I dont wear a belt to often so sheath carry isnt my gig. I carried it a couple times but it's just to big. It is fun to fiddle around with. The 442 is perfect size, it spends good bit of time in the edc rotation.

Fritz, nice lites... I like the old two piece 422 bucklites the best... I'll have to buy some like yours someday...

I did not remember the 444 being one of the 100yr. etched knives . Did it get the medallion as well ? Thanks for the photo . DM

DM,
I picked the knife alone on the bay. The logo seems to be lazored like the Bos or Buck stamps on the new models. Incedently a friend of mine is one of the developers of that process they sold to Buck. He says the stamp is a dye they developed that when treated with the heat of a lazor it permanently adheres to the metal. I always wondered if they were lazored on, why couldnt you feel a depression/grooving. Now I know.

i happened to find a green and the black 422 models today (at that same Tru Valu store), considered them, but went with a 112. i recently have changed to carrying my EDC knives in my back right jean pocket, and the 110 ive been carrying was just a bit to large. the 422s in the case looked to have been there for awhile, they have been outta production for awhile havent they? BTW, sorry to hijack the thread, i also have a Goliath, and its one of my favorites come deer season.

The middle knife(442) is perfect for rear pocket carry. I'm surprised you gave that place a 2nd chance after the 118 incident. Hope you enjoy the 112. Glad your giving Goliath some work:thumbup:

i dont hold one salesmans actions against the whole store, they are family owned....plus i believe in buying local. check my response on that other thread, i may have found a place with a few good knives worthy of buying. im not gonna call there playing 20 questions this time...lol

Thanks for input but I still would like to know what range of years these were produced.

Woody d, are they the old two piece 422 bucklites???

despite the pic, id say thats them. green and black ones, i looked thru them all to see what was in box and not displayed. also, the blades were polished like a 112 as opposed to the dull finish that my Goliath has.
