Just curious what blades have surprised you with quality pr ability! I consider a budget knife anything under 50$

My favorite budget knife by far is the Enlan El-01. For $16.00 you get one crazy knife for the value.

Mora fixed blades

I would add Opinels, but they are not consistently finished.

The Rat 1 is hard to beat for $30. Also a lot of Cold Steel stuff on clearance right not for prices that are just SILLY. Both Rat 1 and Cold Steel are great budget knifes.

Kershaw Tension and Camillus Hustle.
Both are liner locks, the Tension locks up rock solid, gets super sharp, is tough, G10 scales, I was pleasantly surprised when I picked this blade up.
The Hustle, I wasn't going to give the new Camillus another try, but I'm glad I did. A modified drop point blade, satin finished, tan g10 handles with milling and a chain ring pivot, super smooth, super tough.
These have gotta be my best "Bang For The Buck" blades

There are actually lots to choose from.
Any SAK from Victorinox
Any Opinel
Any Mora
Any KaBar Dozier folder
Any Ontario Utilitac II
Any Kershaw/Emerson collaboration
Case Sodbusters
Klein Tools TL-29 from most hardware/electrical supply
any Ontario Rat folder
Spyderco Tenacious
I am not that versed in Kershaws knives but it seems they have a lot of good choices under $50. The list goes on...

The RAT-1 and RAT-2 are great knives and will only set you back about $30.

The KaBar Dozier Folding Hunter is another good one that can typically be had for under $20.

Several of the common 2 and 3 layer SAKs can also be found ranging from $15-30. The Super Tinker is one of my favorites.

My most recent favorite budget knives have been the Kershaw Emerson collaborations, specifically the CQC-5K and CQC-6K, which are about $30. Ergos on them are fantastic (CQC-5K seems kinda like a Micro Commander), and in addition to being solid performers, they also have a bit of a cool factor to them.

Agree with everyone who said Kershaw Skyline, I love mine in orange.

However, the budget Kershaw that surprised me more in terms of quality (fit and finish, and look) was my Kershaw Injection 3.0. Really, really elegant looking Rexford design, good clip, snappy deployment (without being assisted, thankfully, really can't stand the Speedsafe) and functional blade shape. The only knock would be that it's Made in China and uses 8Cr13MoV steel instead of a US Sandvik like the Skyline ... but hey it's $30. Couldn't recommend it more. When I'm taking a break from my Spydercos, I'm carrying this.

Folder - Kershaw Blur. A/O 13C26 $49.00

Fixed - SOG Seal Pup Elite, straight edge Satin Finish Aus8, Nylon sheath. $48.00

There are others I haven't tried.

Already a lot of good suggestions. The el-01 is hard to beat and for a fixed blade the seal pup is great. I'll add in the kershaw thermite. Fantastic budget blade.
