When the weather get crappy these are the books I turn to to get a quick fix.

Thanks IA Woodsman!

I hadn't seen the second book you mentioned before, and will check it out.

Your comment about the metric system is interesting. I find myself caught between the two systems, as I am socialized to use the metric system, but most W&SS and knife-related discussions still use Imperial measurements. I paddle in kilometres but my belt knife has a 6" blade, not a 15.24 cm one.

All the best,

- Mike

def. the Mcpherson's books

Primitive living skills

for Survival I think the older the book the better

Great book. I also recommend Myke Hawke's Green Beret Survival Manual. I found his writing very easy to read & follow.

I am currently reading Adventure Travel in the Third World. Just started it so no opinion yet.

Cool Vid. I'll definitely have to pick up some or all of those. Edibles/food gathering is one area I feel like my skills are severely lacking.

I like to read survival books too. But not so much manuals.

"Nino Cochise the First Hundred Years" is a good read , although its most likely Bullcrap.
