I know this is a Busse forum, but most are probably fans of all the Busse knife group brands, including Swamp Rat and Scrap Yard. So what's your favorite?
 
i currently own one scrapyard, no swamprats, and perhaps 12-15 busses. no contest for me.
 
1st.) Busse
2nd.) SRKW































Distant 3rd.) the other one with the dog logo.
 
I like all three companys. But I only use and have Busse's.:thumbup:
 
Well I guess the outcome is pretty obvious here - might get a more mixed response at the other brands' forums.

It's a fair point though - I wonder how many users of Scrap Yard and Swamp Rat there are compared to users of Busses?

I mean, Busses are great and obviously plenty of folks have both the cash and the desire to use these knives as the tools they are intended to be. (I'm ignoring collecting - I image Busses are far more collected than the others.)

But plenty of other folks (possibly a lot more) either don't have the cash, or can't justify spending it on a Busse, or just don't want to spend that amount on a working tool when there are others that are almost as good, without the frills, and a lot more affordable. My favourite knives are the ones I find the most usable. If I couldn't or didn't want to afford Busses, would I then consider, say, Swamp Rat to be my favourite? Probably.

I wonder what the proportions would be if we could get figures on that, from an impartial forum.

Just my pre-coffee brain-farts!
 
I'm a little surprised how this is playing out. I thought Swamp Rat would be more popular than Scrap Yard, but I guess Scrap Yard does offer the best price/value ratio for their products of the bunch, and they have had a lot of releases lately, including the SOD.

Personally while I think Busse Combat makes incredible knives, except for a "special" one here and there, like the NMFBM, they're just too pricey for me. Swamp Rat is probably my favorite of the bunch with their design, build quality and price point. I love my Mini Uncle Mojo, Hairy Carry LE and Crash Rat SE.
 
My vote goes towards Swamp Rat knives... I have a Busse BATAC, Swamp Rat Chopweiler, Hairy Carry LE and Scrap Yard Yard Hook, DC Dumpster Mutt so I haven't handled that many Bussekin knives, but out of the ones I have, for me personally the Swamp Rats feel the best in hand.
 
I voted Busse.

Possibly for the same reason a lot of others may have.
Before coming here, I had a lot of nice knives. Not stuff you can generally find in a store, even a knife store.

I wanted something really nice, and nice as they may be SRKW and SY aren't enough better than what I already have -- there was only one way to go.

Besides, the Busse names are cooler. Who can argue with Battle Mistress or Hellrazor?
 
what were the other two again? was it Swampyard and Scraprat:confused:

I know what a Busse is so I just voted for them:p
 
I voted Busse as well, wish I could afford more of them. For price/performance wise, a Scrapyard beats them all.
 
WTF are you kidding?! Drats and Drogs shouldn't even be in here!!:mad: Oh and by the way there's a reason why I have a huge cat as my avatar!
 
Well, what with the addiction, and all ... my vote was really fore-ordained.

I do love my Rats and Dogs, though. :o
