For years I carried a BuckLite 422 vertically in a rear pants pocket next to my wallet.... Then I discovered pocket clips, current favorite is a Paradigm in a R front jeans pocket.

Pocket carry for any of the 300 series, even the big ole 307. No sleeve...keys, change, knife.

The 300 series and not a Buck slipjoints (except the two blade slipjoint folding hunter) loose in my pocket.
110/112 in the "belt sheath" they come with. (Buck calls it a "belt sheath", so I will as well.)
The two blade slipjoint folding hunters also come with a Buck 110 type "belt sheath". Like Buck, the manufacturer of those two blade slipjoint folding hunters also call it a "belt sheath". I use the "belt sheath" they come with to carry the two blade slipjoint folding hunters.
Buck 877 and 460 fixed blades: in a belt sheath.

I'm very Sorry. A few 300 series, a few 110's, one each 112, 460 fixed blade, and (Walmart SFO White Handle, Made in USA) 877 (or is it a 887?) fixed blade, are the only Buck knives I have. Please forgive me. My total Buck accumulation (I don't "collect"; I "accumulate") is under a score. :(

Question for you, stevekolt stevekolt : What do you see as the defining difference between a "belt sheath" and a "belt pouch", insofar as carrying a knife is concerned?
Do I need to change my answer for the 110, 112, and the two blade slipjoint folding hunters?

Up to and including the Buck 307 in the LFP (sans slip). Buck 112 or 110 on belt in sheath. OH

I carry a 2dot 110 most of the time in a leather low rider sheath on my left hip.all folding hunters go in a sheath on my belt.I am still old school, most of the high tech- gadget knives I have no use for, when a plain ol square bolstered heavy Buck 110 gets the job done from big to small jobs .

300 series I carry loose in my pocket.

110, 112, 192, 196 get belt sheaths, right hand side.

500 series (501, 503) also get carried loose in my pocket.

Usually a belt sheath. Sometimes if I'm just hanging around the house I'll even throw a 501 in a sheath. If I didn't miss out on the smoky mountain 110 in burnt bone with a pocket clip I'd be carrying that a whole lot in the pocket. But, I regrettably missed out so in the sheath they go...

Buck 898 Impact clipped to the right front pocket, and 308 Canoe in left front pocket.

Most every day I have a 55 loose in my front pocket, or a small Vantage with the clip removed although I recently discovered that a week's worth of hiking will play havoc with color on the scales of my Cabela's Vantage. No more loose carry for that one.

Next for most usage is a 112 Ranger Pro or a 110 of some sort in a sheath on my belt. By the way, are we referring to the "pouch" as the belt type that doesn't use any type of restraint at the top? If so, I don't have one yet but I am considering purchasing a leather crossdraw off the Bay to try.

Most of my large Vantages see some limited carry via their clips at some point and now I can add a new 112 Slim Pro to that list. As Mak has suggested in the past, that model is perfect for carry in shorts.

I don't have a favorite but I'll select loose in pocket due to frequency.

At work I carry the large Vantage Pro 20cv clipped in my rf pocket along with a 303 cadet deep pocket. Then on days off and outdoors I carry my 110 in belt sheath. I really wish wrangler was still making the jeans with a vertical knife pocket. Those worked great and a 110 fit perfect and was hardly noticeable.

There is a fifth option: neck knife in a kydex sheath on a bead chain. Lately I have been carrying a #112 Slim in my front pocket (with a clip), and a Hogue neck knife.

I’d like to add that in my work I often have to keep hold of something while I retrieve my knife so that’s the main reason why I edc a one handed flipper with a pocket clip. It just makes for more efficient and convenient use in a more demanding way. Otherwise I would prefer a 110 /112 sheath carry and a 303 / 301 in pocket. I guess when I’m in the outdoors or at leisure I like to take my time and enjoy everything and the old school way is more traditional and it gets the job done in those situations.

I like the 70's scalloped top 110 sheath for that model. Riding on the left. My Duke
In the same type sheath and riding on the right. I carry my Buck large Trapper 334
in a custom pouch sheath from Mak on the left . DM

Carry my spitfire. I. Right front pocket . Tip down. I love that this knife gives me that option. As most clips are on the end of the knife. I guess I am weird I prefer it at the the pivot.
