Favorite Cold Steel under $30

In my collection, my favorite Cold Steel knife I paid less than $30.00 for is the Urban Pal I bought for $24.95 in 1988 and carried it EDC for a few years.

The Bushman I bought in 2000 for $20.00 has done a lot of work and I also used it as a throwing spear. Now it is with my dad in the Philippines.

I just tested a SK5 Recon Tanto today, and it cost me just under $30.00. It seems pretty good, but I'm not sure how well the hollow grind will hold up with chopping over time. Of course it was much cheaper than my Carbon V Recon Tanto that I've used since 1997, even without taking inflation into account.

I think I paid $19.95 for my Mini-Tac Bowie, which is a useful small fixed blade. They improved the sheath over the one my Kiridashi came with a few years before.

I got the 18" and 12" barong machetes on their clearance sale in 2010, but only 2 of the 12". I've found both to be use

The sub-$30.00 Cold Steel blade I use the most in the Garden Machete I bought for just under $12.00. It is pretty handy for yard work.

I bought a pair of bokken when their first came out and they were under $20.00 each.

My Cold Steel training knives were around $10.00 each and have been through years of martial arts training.

I have the 12" barong also! That was a good design!

I will be the first to say Roach Belly. Very hard to beat as a slicer and you can get 2 for less than 30 bucks.
It looks like a great kitchen knife, and I like the 4116 for a basic, easy to care for stainless steel. I would have picked one of these up but I already have a very similar knife (peace maker III).

These are my favorites Mini-Tac Bowie, Tanto, Kiridashi (DCd), Best Pal.
I'm not a hatchet, or machete expert, but IMO, the most useful products under $30 are the regular Kukri Machete, and Trail Boss hatchet. They are more than capable of performing all of my outdoor/yardwork needs.
