Looking at picking up an Izula or Candiru and I can't seem to decide between OD Green or Dark Earth (will prob just go with micarta scales as far as matching it up to scale color). Got me curious. So, Esee owners, what is your favorite coating color?

I have a Esee 6 and Junglas in Venom Green...Yes, they are gaudy but they stand out in the woods or fields. Camouflage, dark earth or od green colors blend in too much. Having lost an expensive knife in Autumn woods years ago, I find the bright colors useful. Others may think the Venom Green colors are silly or ugly but I'm not looking for pretty in a working bush tool.

I'd go with none. I prefer no coating so I usually remove any that comes on a knife I intend to keep.

I have a 4 in the Dark Earth. To me it looks cooler in pictures than it does in person. Sort of bland. I don't dislike it, but I think I would rather have a darker color like black or OD green.

Good point. Considering going with g10 scales in orange for that reason vs the micarta.

Is FDE the same color as their old desert tan? I haven't seen ESEE's FDE in person.
I always felt the desert tan was their most dressy color and most pukey color at the same time.

I have one in red and one in od green.
The red gets used the most and is worn away in a lot of spots.

I etched the red one too before using it so that is my special Izula.

Really they all look good, especially after a bit of use.
