I think that there is an interesting subcategory of knives these days involving factory collaborations with custom makers. These knives allow Everyman to have custom designed knives at factory prices. Some pieces that come to mind are the Camillus Fisk bowies and CUDA Maxx, Spyderco's Viele, Buck's Mayo TNT and Strider knives, and the Benchmade 630.

What is your favorite factory collaboration? My favorite is the Microtech LCC. Alas, it is no longer made.

My favorite is the Ed Bradursky-Spyderco Shabaria collaboration. It's an exceptional design, unique to this knife, that echos the classic knife designs of the Middle East. It's also one hell of a good using knife. I didn't buy it for about 2 years because of the handle and knife shape not seeming comfortable. However, after using the knife for many years, I see how the design is truly utilitarian, in that it's good for a lot of things, but not perfect for any one grip or use.

I certainly agree with the two previous posts-- I am glad that i bought those knives when I did, becasue they are not all that easy to find now, especially the Shabaria.

These collaborations are about my favorite type of knife to carry. Aside form those 2, I like the Spyderco-Ed Shempp Persian, The William Henry-Tom Brown collaboration, the Benchmade-Warren Osborne models (especially the gold series damascus one), the Kershaw-Ken Onion Boa, and my latest passion, the Queen-Dan Burke slipjoints.

If the BM 710 counts (McHenry/Williams), that would be tough to beat.

All of Bob Lum's Spyderco knives are terrific. (I haven't owned the fixed blade, but it sure looks good.)

That's easy:

Benchmade 625 Crawford Leopard.

If only they would make this with the Axis-lock I would buy three of them!

Allen.

My favorite collaborations are the Spyderco/Jess Horn and the A.G. Russell/Jess Horn models. The attachment shows the Russell/Horn models in black linen micarta. The blades are ATS-34 and 60-62 Rc.

Large model: 3-1/8" blade, 4" handle
Small model: 2-5/8" blade, 3-3/8" handle

I like BM's Snody knives. All the models are nice, which keeps me from having to fork out the cash for the customs. Their are quite a few other BM that I really like as well(quite a few of them I dont own.) Here they are in no particular order: 706, 732, 960, 921, & 635. I guess that means pretty much all of BM's current line up minus Pardue and Osborne.

I'm loving the new Strider Buck.

I also like the Benchmade Snody Gravitator.
