I know that I am not alone in enjoying just playing with my knives sometimes. I like having my Spyderco Matriarch open on the desk to handle while I'm reading the forums, though I usually refrain when my roommate is in the room. I also enjoy opening and closing my small Sebenza. There is something about it's smoothness that even my large Classic can't match. When opening and closing, the lock disengages so easily and smoothly that it's just a joy to play with.

So let's here it. What are your favorite knives to sit and fiddle with?

11" horn-handled Italian stiletto. Mostly because it's my newest aquisition.

But other than that, any auto is fun to play with.

William Henry Lancet because it's so smooth. For mechanical fun the Benchmade 705.

Wood/Irie Swinglocker is loads of fun for all ages. The Speedtech Synergy also has a high fun factor, as do all the Speedsafe knives.

Well ..... I'm not exactly sure what the correct "type" of knife it is, but I enjoy my small Schrade folder (?) that my father gave me many years ago.

It's not the most beautiful knifeon the planet, nor it is in great shape ..... but it means a great deal to me, because when I 'fiddle' with it, it always reminds me of my hero .... my dad.

Any of my Spydercos. Waiting for a Delica drone, no edge or point to cause damage when it gets away from me.

My Spydie Lum tanto(s). Beautiful, flowing lines, Hamaguri grind, titanium... Ahh... A visual and tactile (and tactical, if you insist

) treat.

My BM 705BT gets the highest marks for smoothness and fun. But, for smoothness and balance, the new BM 940 takes the cake.

I just love flipping balisongs, but my favorite for fiddlin' with when I'm just sitting around is my Case RussLock. That little lever thingee is fun to use.

For pure enjoyment, I have an old John AusVenner commemorative. During his impetuous youth, he was a 'roadie' for 'Nimrod Wildfire & The Sod-Busters.' He has incorporated two of their biggest hits into the panels of the grips. One side is 'Two Pound Enema Polka,' and the other is from 'She Knocked My Apartment, So I Knocked Her Flat.' Sure, the blade is probably 440A, if I'm lucky, and I've found only one other guy in Wisconsin who has their albums, but it sure is funky.--OKG

MT SOCOM... the lock engages with a loud snap. Great feel.
