What are your favorite files for doing rapid stock removal/reprofiling? I've been using Nicholson "Handy" files (garden-style files with the integral handle) because that's what I'm used to, but I'm interested in hearing if anyone on here has preferences. I've found myself sharpening a lot of machetes lately and it's gotten me thinking. :D

42, I probably have a dozen Nicholson files of different sizes for different applications . Their quality is good and preformance and economy consistent . Plus its the only really decent brand I can find in my area . The Chinese stuff doesn't hold up but available everywhere . I don't own a machete but I do use mine on metal work . DM
