A gentleman at the gunshow this weekend swore by his Kershaw Leek 440A.

What think you of this steel for in the suit pants carry. The slimness, light weight, and <$100 price of the leek appeal to me.

Sv30 might be a little tough to sharpen, and the ZDP 189 is a little pricey.

I currently pack my salt I Delica daily to the office.

Please let me know your favorite lite, slim flippers/ assisited openers.

Thanks so much in advance,

My EDC for the office is a Kershaw Scallion and its very discreet and reliable.

Mine is currently the Kershaw Blur... I love this knife, just picked it up this past weekend.

You said it yourself. When I'm forced to wear a suit, I'll only carry my Kershaw Leek (black in 440A). The size and sleek finish made it quite friendly when I was in the office, and it's very slim so it shouldn't be uncomfortable in your slacks.

I got mine for $40, great knife at that price

When I'm forced to actually dress up, I carry a Kershaw Baby Boa. It's very small and unobtrusive, very sheeple friendly, the blade has a great belly for slicing, and the clip is a work of art so when seen, it just looks great. I have a couple of variations of the Baby Boa...a limited run all black one for when I'm dressed up in black and a limited run all grey one when I'm in lighter dress.

If you want a high quality compact folder, the G10/S30V Leek would be a great choice IF the assisted opening isn't going to be a problem for the sheeple in your office. Don't be afraid of sharpening the S30V, the Leek has a fine edge that is not difficult to maintain. I was facing the same dilemma of looking for an office friendly knife recently. I wanted to avoid the AO, so I ended up going with a Benchmite. Just AUS8, but that should be fine for office duty.

Leeks can be had for far less than $100 on the internet, and in various styles. Try newgraham.com

I also like the look of the Centofante-Onion.

I carry a large tactical knife even when I wear a suit. I always carry a small sheeple knife anyway. I have even found that a small fixed blade will carry well in the inside jacket pocket. I love wearing a suit for concealed handgun carry since the jacket covers the imprint of a handgun in several carry modes. So in answer to your question I like the Benchmade Nitrous Striker (strongest AO out there and no spring breakage)

Another one for the Kershaw Blur... 50 bucks and I don't freak if it gets lost. The rough grip surface on the handle is excellent for AO. Tip down and deploys real smooth... Have to be careful... s-people think it's an auto

Since you mentioned 3 steels it seems like you're wondering about this too. You might want to stick w/ the leek, but find one with a born on date later than 7/07. Kershaw will be making them out of Sandvik steel. 13C26. It's kind of between 440A and S30V.

Excellent RNR!!

I had run across 12c27 on this sites steel sticky, but hadn't seen the 13c26.

I'll google it now.

thanks tons

My 2 favorite AO knives would be:

Kershaw Leek (s30v & G-10)
Kershaw Boa (One of the most underrated knives out there)

The G10 Leek is a great little knife. I barely notice it in my pocket during the day. It does seem a little thicker then the other Leeks, but that also makes it feel better in the hand when your using it.

The Rainbow Leek.
