Favorite Forced Patina?

Hey guys,
I'm planning on purchasing a Becker BK16 and stripping the coating. I also plan on forcing a patina on it (for rust prevention and visual appeal). What are your favorite methods? I've heard of using mustard, ketchup, citrus fruits, potatoes, vinegar, and much more. I'm not looking for a really dark patina; I'd prefer something a little more on the light side. Pictures would be helpful. Thanks!

I think some guys over on the traditional used salsa before, or something along those lines. It came out very nice, I want to say it was green salsa but don't bother quoting me on this. The guys over on the traditional part of the forum are crazy about a good patina on a knife I would head over down there and take a look around you can't go a week without someone forcing a patina on a knife down there.

Never forced a patina before but I was personally debating on doing so one of these days and doing a bit of a design by using various ingredients and covering the blade with them in a bit of a random pattern. And once that takes the first patina maybe doing a second coating of something that do a light patina. Or a light patina, design, light patina, could get very creative with this probably. Though that's all speculation, I still need to find a block of carbon steel to experiment this one.
