Just writing to see what everyone likes as far as handle materials..

I have some orders coming up, and maybe there is some cool stuff out there that I dont know about or just havent thought about..

I usually stick to lightening strike carbon fiber with copper bolsters (thats my favorite combo) or just full TI..

But I am open to suggestions as I could use something new in my collection..

Stag? Smooth carbon fiber? MokuTi? Micarta? Wood?

What do you think?

I like polished Micarta and if I'm looking for weight savings I'll opted for G10. I'm also partial to wood inlays with Snakewood and Cocobolo.

Carbon fiber. Love the aesthetics, it's lightweight and offers medium traction.

I like canvas or linen micarta. The wider the thread pattern the better. I like the look and good gripping properties when wet.

I like stag, horn, and Micarta. Copper looks great, too, but anything more than a few spacers affects the weight and balance of the knife too much for me. I don't think I would like full copper bolsters very much.

titanium (both sides please!) be it bead blasted or stone washed, just as long as it's plain, and with a smooth chamfer.

Canvas micarta and exotic hardwoods. Right now I've got a knife in Wenge and one in Ziricote and they feel great and are pretty tough stuff. Ipe is up next for one of my projects.

My favorites are Micarta and hard woods.

I replaced the handle on a SS cheap spreader/knife with ipe. It has held up very well in the kitchen. It gets washed, soaked, dried on a dish rack. After about 6 months, I finally put another coat of boiled linseed oil on it.

Carbon fiber or G10 for the scales. Damascus or Ti for the bolsters. That's my favorite combo.

I like micarta the most, and stag would be second. I also like sheep horn and carbon fiber alot. I like G10 on folders if its textured like Spyderco's, but don't like it that much on a fixed blade. I also like bone on a slip joint.

Are you talking about folders or fixed blades?

I used to collect custom fixed blade hunting knives. I preferred stag, polished micarta, or polished wood like ironwood. I have a few fixed blade knives intended for use and not looks, those have rough finished canvas micarta to enhance grip.

I have a lot of user folding knives and most of them have rough finished G10.
