I was looking through some knife magazines in Borders and they all looked pretty good. I ended up buying "Blade" because it seemed to be all about knives as opposed to other magazines being about hunting.

I was wondering what people read around here concerning knives? I'm looking to absorb as much as possible, so any publication is of interest to me.

If you search, you'll find that Blade, Tactical Knives and Knives Illustrated are the 3 slick paper ones that most people like. They are pretty much all glorified ads for any knife that they "test" but its still fun to read. No different really than the gun magazines.

Knife World is a "newspaper" type magazine that is also good. They tend to focus on traditional style knifes, slippies, etc. I think that they also offer a free 3 month subscription, at least they used to.

I personally like Blade the best and Knives Illustrated the least, but it all depends on what knives they are talking about that month.

I like them all, but Knife World is the most valuable to me as far as information.

Blade Forums has some great photos and a great layout, Tactical Knives has some very good survival and self defense articles, Knives Illustrated isn't as bad layout wise as it once was, but still not as good as Blade and TK.

Knife World, while just a newspaper, is a far better magazine. Black and white for the most part, it is a wealth of information, and a good read too.
