So whats your favorie fixed blade and your favorite folder and why?
For me It would be the beautiful blackjack model 1-7, which I love because it gives you a longish blade at 7'in, and a really nice leather handle, all at 10 oz. My favorite folder is either the benchmade 710 or the spyderco military for the relative light weight, the quick and smooth(mostly on the benchmade) opening, the ergos, and their ability to take an awesomely sharp edge. You?
P.S. pictures always welcomed.

But WHY sir:)
Im actually the opposite, im moving from fixed blades to folding. Your wallet's screwed either way.

My favorite fixed blade would be my ESEE Izula. It's perfect for EDC and cuts like a banshee.

My favorite folder is my Spyderco Sage 1. Smooth, light-weight and damn sexy lookin'.

oh sorry, why you ask?

the blade is solid. full flat grind, thick at the spine razor thin at the edge. its fun to play with, the handles feel great! grippy g10, olive drab. linerless so they flex, but i like it. makes it feel squishy. the action is ball bearing'd, so its buttery smooth. its too big to sit in the front pocket unffortunately, but it sits in my back pocket like nothing's there and so there it sits, keeping the front pockets open for my 940 and vic climber! not to mention my normal pocket contents of phone, zippo, and keys.

just love it. trying to force a solid patina but d2 is proving difficult... my 940 will get red spots without a problem but i can't MAKE something happen on my 53 when i try... grr haha

The only fixed blade I own is a Bark River Little Creek so I would have to say that it's my favorite.

My favorite folder is a slipjoint. Schatt & Morgan Railsplitter.
Hard to explain why really. It just feels like more of a loyal companion than any other knife I've ever owned.

My favorite folder is the Spyderco Military. Favorite fixed is my ESEE Izula by default since it's my only fixed blade. Unless you count my Philippine bolo then that would be my fav fixed.

Fixed would be my BRKT Aurora but I have a strong suspicion this will be superceded by the Highland Special that just arrived! It fits my hand like a glove!

Folders.... I don't really have a favourite... Maybe my Delica4?

Ouch! Askin me to pick a favorite. I'd have to go by class of knife.

Favorite 10" blade is my Turkey Mountain chopper by Tad Lynch in 52100.

Favorite Kukri is my M-43 by Bura.

Favorite 5" is a toss up between my new BRKT made Scagel, and my custom by Gerry Drew. But the Scagel is edging ahead.

Favorite tactical Folder is my ZT 0301

Favorite pocket folder is my stag GEC 53 whittler. Though I'll probably pick up one of their Cattle Barons.

The Scagel and my Turkey Mtn. are my favorite combo right now.

I have 2 favorite fixed blades and 2 favorite folders, both for different tasks.
Favorite fixed blades are my handmade engraved Bhojpure khukuri for chopping and my very first knife, my Marttiini Martef Skinner, which I have abused the hell out of and it just keeps going.

And my favorite folders are my brand new SOG Blink for EDC, and my Leatherman E302 for its many tools. The LM is getting a bit of rust on it from all the beadblasting, but I don't mind.

I love each one I have as much as the others, so I have to talk about ones I'd like

Which would be (for a slipjoint) Gene Ingram large Sodbuster or a Queen Trapper, (locker) Mcusta Plover or an Insingo, (fixed) ... nah! got too many of them - maybe a Fallkniven A1 or an Alan Wood clippoint

I'm not really into fixed knives, but I do have several of them to take with me on camping trips and such. They're all Mora's of some kind. My current outdoor fixed knive is a Mora 2000. The fixed knive that I like most is my Marttiini Lapinleuku 230.

My current favourite folder is the Fällkniven TK4, it's also my newest knife. It's a beautiful knife and very comfortable to use and carry.

Fixed:
Randall Model 1, 6", carbon, leather
I purchased this many years ago when you could just walk into Bo's shop and pick out a knife from the showcase. The knife has served well on fishing, hiking, and camping trips.

The handle was light brown when new. Sweat, rain, and the like have turned it much darker.

Folder:
Vic Pioneer
My 26 year old Pioneer has never let me down. The full-sized Alox Vic family and Wegner SI are, IMO, about the closest thing there is to a perfect pocket knife.

Good God this is like asking which child you favor the most. :)

For slippie it would be my old red SAK Pioneer.

For folder definitely my Paramilitary II

Fixed blade would be BHK Bushcrafter

Large fixed blade would be my HI ganga ram bonecutter.

Not to be forgotten would be my Tram bolo machete.

I have two favorite fixed blades:

1. Shun Santoku/Chef's knife (I love cooking and these are a perfect balance of cost to performance ratio--I don't feel bad using it like I would a more expensive knife)

2. ESEE Izula (As a neck knife I can actually carry it around, the small package fits in my pocket well and being a fixed blade with ESEE's warranty I feel like I can use it as hard as I want/need to)

And two Folders

1. Large Sebenza (It's really hard to beat the Sebenza's combination of slicing ability, solid lockup, portability, ability to get a large blade in a small package, and the sheer genius of the design)

2. Benchmade 943/94x (The thing is so dang small for how much blade you get. The Sage series comes close, but I feel like the BM is a better package. Plus the 943's thin blade shape makes it an excellent slicer.)

Favorite fixed: Busse Bushwhacker mistress. Coolest blade I own, and it is very special to me as it was a gift from my brother and my best friend.

Favorite Folder: Lg seb 21. Just love the ergos and function of this guy
