So I'm bored out of my mind sitting in a hotel in Nashville and thought I would start a thread. What's your go to do it all knife? The one that you would keep if you had to sell the rest...and why is it your favorite. Lice would be nice too!

it's funny...i've been staring at this screen for like 5 minutes now. thinking.

i have one that i made myself that i am fond of (obviously)...

...but that is kind of a copout answer.

my favorite JK would be this one. (and actually, now that i think about it...this one has that mahogany on it that you gave me)

and, i might not be allowed back here if i don't mention my li'l KFU Muk. funny, i did actually sell this one. and, i happened to notice the guy i sold it to listed it for sale....i had sellers remorse on this one...and bought it back.

i do have to say that i find myself reaching for my Gossman UNK quite a bit lately.

ultimately, i have many knives i like (and for different reasons). but honestly, i don't know as if i have found "the one" yet.

i know that wasn't a great answer, but i did post a lot of "lice" to help you out. :D

Cool. So how do you like that modified wharnie for skinning and dressing out? I'm drawing up a bunch of knives while I'm up herrle and was thinking of doing that blade shape or a larger nessmuck. It looks like you use a smaller blade most.

i have romantic notions about using a big ol' knife, but in reality, i seem to use a little knife more. i actually am pretty fond of the sheepsfoot/wharnie blade pattern. it has worked well for me on duck. haven't tried it for anything else. on the Gossman forum, i have seen folks using it for deer and boar. they seem to like it.

and, i have to say...i would love to see what you come up with for a sheepsfoot design.

[EDIT] i actually got one of your roach belly patterns. that was a big knife. close to a 6" blade, if i recall. heavy. and, i loved it. i regret getting rid of that one. it would have made a great camp knife. even though it was thick stock, the grind you had on that thing was awesome. it did feathers sticks as well as the smaller/thinner knives.

wow. that's awesome Bill. and good point...chris, what is your favorite knife?

Honestly fr a smaller knife its a falkniven. I hate the rubber handle but I love the feel. For a bigger knife I really am liking my willow camp. I like fiddlebacks bushcrafter alot but the handle is a little thin for me. I also really like laconicos nessmuck. I had one for a long time but sold it when I was starting making. Wish I still had that knife.

Thanks for letting me borrow the nessmuk for a few months Todd! I loved that little knife. My favorite knife right now is my old school BHK bushcrafter.

But Chris, if I could choose only one knife I probably wouldn't be a member here.

Ha. Indeed. nice pic kyle.

I have 2 favorites, 1st is my F1 the first fallkniven i bought and the first sheath i made for one, and the 2nd is the KFU Willow Camp i recently received from Chris, i have had 2 people want to buy it already, it is just a spectacular knife, the pics do not do this knife justice. Thanks again Chris for the knife and for using a great piece of Cocobolo. Sorry for the crappy pictures, the knives deserve better.

Sweet Knives Guys!!!

Hmmm, Playin' Favorites...THAT'S Hard, but...

My top three knives are these three...

My SHTF grab and go knives that live in my pack are my Busse Basic 10LE and my Coty Handley Custom in S35VN built from a drawing I sent him after I made about 100 cardboard prototypes for the perfect fit (He nailed it!!!)...

I'd still take a few others too (multi-tools, axe, folder, etc.) but you asked for favorites.

But...As far as Favorite carry knives...

My favorite "User" and hands down the most comfortable knife I own, no matter the hold, is my KFU Kephart! It is my "got it with me" when I can open carry it knife!!! This is a fantastically simple but incredibly effective cutting tool and it came from Chris screaming sharp!!! I like it so much, I've asked for another one in orange G10, with thin black liners and a white pinstripe once Chris starts playin' with O1 in his oven (gonna call it the General Lee):D

nice pics stump. i continually eye that KFU Kephart. it is on my shortlist, for sure.

I really like Kepharts too. Its so plain but highly effective. Im thinking about doing a smaller one to see if the design would translate well into something smaller.

I love the looks of that Busse Chopper, i have always wanted to try to make a baldric carry sheath for one, When i can afford the knife i will definitely make sheaths for them. Thanks for showing them

My favorite so far is a production knife. I'm using the heck out of this ESEE3:

The best looking knife I've had is Bill's Recurve Hunter. It honestly is everything I wanted in a custom knife as far as how it should look. I ended up selling it, because my ogre hands left my pinky hanging off the end, but I really wish I had hung onto it, even as a display piece.

My 1st BA knife. I love the liners on it, and one of the only many knives I have that has been really "used". My favorite pretty knife is a Busse NMSFNO that I havent used because 1 havent had a chance 2 it will probably be a safe queen that a fondle while bored. I have a few other knives in its size, so I will just cop a grab every once in a while.

The BK16 has been my go-to knife for the past 6 months, pretty much since I got it -- but some serious competition was handed to me on Saturday in the form of one of Tackett13's blades -- it got LOTs of positive attention by everyone on site.
If you haven't snagged one of Matt's knives yet, do it before he wises up and raises his prices!
Ferric chloride etch and stabilized dyed redwood burl scales. (yes, they have some really cool color, no it doesn't translate well through the lens of my ultra-cheap point & shoot)

I've been thinking about this one, but I can't pin it down to just one favorite knife. I've always liked knives but have only been seriously into them for like 1.5 years. I'm more of a hunter than a bushcrafter, so I lean more towards hunting knives. I really like the looks of the Fallkiniven F1 customs. A couple Bark River knives that I would like to check out are the Gameskeeper, Lite Hunter, Bravo 1, and a few others. I really like the hunter that I had you make me last winter and with deer season starting on Friday I'm hoping that I'll be able bloody it some and see how it works. For something that I would carry on me for normal everyday things I really like the little nessie that I had and plan to eventually get you to make me a new one. I have lots of others that I like for other reasons too, but I don't use them nearly as much as I would like to.
