Just for fun, what is your favorite knives in every category that you have used? The categories and my personal choices are as follows:

Small folder - I can’t stop carrying my Vosteed Valkyrie. Love Nitro V, love the sheepsfoot blade, and it’s such a fidgety design, but really useful too.

Large Folder: AD20 - this changes for me often, but I really love the AD20S. The shark lock is strong and fun, and I don’t mind larger folders. Plus, there are different blade shape options. I have one coming in Magnacut at the end of the year that will most likely stay in my pocket daily.

Small fixed - Bradford 3.5. I feel this knife is criminally underrated. Mine is in Magnacut with a kydex sheath and it’s my go-to outdoors knife. Fits my hand perfectly and really just anything I need.

Mid-sized fixed blade - Carother’s DEK 1 in Delta 3V. I kind of want one in Magnacut, but I suspect I would always just carry the 3V. The heat treat is amazing, it’s bombproof, but it still cuts really well. I think this is the perfect knife. It really doesn’t get any better, and I had to buy a second one, just in case.

Large fixed blade - Busse TGULB - not the most practical knife, but I rarely need a big fixed blade. This is a bit thinner than the TGLB, which I appreciate. It just looks cool and is fun, and the hollow grind is nice too since it’s so thick.

A snapshot of my current favorites. Especially the folders keep changing all the time.

Small folder - maple Chap, clip removed, easy to slip into any pocket, cuts like a laser, weighs nothing, looks great.

Mid sized folder - PJ Inkosi Insingo.

Large folder - S110V Military, awesome amboyna burl scales, a great break from titanium, FRN and carbon fiber.

Small fixed - Bark River ULB in 3V and Elmax, I liked it so much I bought another. A pocketable, very capable EDC.

Mid sized fixed - Bark River Gunny Hunter rampless is kind of a Goldilocks knife, just the right size and weight. Earns its keep on the bedside table, cutting snacks.

Large fixed - Bark River Tundra 3 Camp in A2, bought after nearly two years of abstaining. And my first big knife that is not actually a machete.
Its blade is an inch shorter than my Victorinox fibrox, but should be able to do much more. The honeymoon is just starting.

This is very subjective, it depends what I'm using it for. All my folders are users to some extent.

If you mean less than 3" for a "small folder" I only have 2, and I would choose the Twist Tighe OTF over the Civivi McKenna.

For medium, I have so many between 3" and 3.5" I don't know where to start. For light use, probably the Cheburkov Strizh. Hard use, tie between Manix 2 CTS-XHP or GB1 in CPM-M4.

I only have three over 3.5" and it's hard to say. My ZT 0095BLK CPM-S90V is well used and excellent, but barely qualified at 3.6" blade. The other two are Biryukov, one of which I bought today. The one I bought last year, model #12 is 3.8" I'm CPM-125V. For tasks that require edge retention and corrosion resistance, but not toughness I would choose it. For edge retention, toughness, and no need for corrosion resistance, the new #7 in S390 would be my choice, at a massive 4.2" blade.
