Favorite large spring assisted knife?

I expect that most people would consider the ZT 300 models to be the favorite and it's the first that comes to my mind. I've seen the HTMs but haven't heard great things about them. What other choices are there for large spring assisted knives?

How do you define "large"? My favorite would be the Kershaw Volt SS, not large to a lot of people but I usually don't carry it because I think it's on the large side.

I was thinking similar to the ZT 300 which is 3.75" I believe.

Personally, I'd consider around 3.5"+ to a large folding knife. I'm sure there are differing opinions of "large", but lets leave that topic for another thread.

Dang, the Volt SS is 3 7/16", sorry :o

Sorry it didn't quite make the cut. :p I kid, I kid.

I really couldn't care less about the blade length. I'm just used to a 3.5"+ blade and am trying to find more assisted options. Thank you for the suggestion though.

Any budget? That changes things. Mine is limited. However, I like my Kershaw Tremor a lot.

No budget because I'm not really planning on buying one. I probably should have mentioned that in my original post. I'm just curious as to what else is out there and what people like.

A co-worker has a ZT 301 and is convinced that the spring assisted opening makes it better than my 561, not that I agree. We were discussing this today and another guy in the break room said that he'd prefer the spring assisted opening; granted, this other guy isn't into knives at all (and to be honest, the fellow with the ZT 301 isn't really much of a knife guy either).

At any rate, I've noticed that most of the spring assisted openers on the market are both shorter and less expensive than the ZT 300 series and am simply curious as to why this is.

Kershaw Tyrade is my favorite large spring assist knife. I really haven't found any other large knives I like with spring assist.

Kershaw Tremor is a good big budget assisted folder. 3 3/4 inch blade(stonewashed, at that), assisted open, comfortable grip, all for $20.

He spent 200+ on a knife and he's not a knife guy?!

Ha, yeah pretty much. This fellow is more of the tactical/prepper kind of guy. His knife is a component in a system; part of his "kit". Uses his knife as a screwdriver/prybar or in whatever way the current task requires. He certainly enjoys his knife but I'll quote him as saying the main reason he carries it is that he can't carry his sidearm at work.

On the other hand, I think of myself as a knife guy. It's a hobby to me. I keep my knives sharp and sharpen my friends/family's knives. I have limited edition knives still in their boxes. I see them as functional art. I enjoy simply fondling a knife as much as I enjoy using it to cut an apple, whittle hair or baton a log.

I hope you can see the differences.

Right on. Thank you for your input.

I like the Kershaw Piston.

I think that it is large enough with a 3.6-inch blade.
