Of all the different tools that Leatherman has put out in 30 years (give or take a couple) what are your favorites?

Mine would have to be the original SuperTool and the driver head that you bought separate that used standard hex bits followed by the second generation Wave.

Pretty close. My original ST was a daily carry for me more than 9 years, paired with a Micra, a perfect combo, and probably would be to this day had it not been for the Charge TTi. Actually, I had been shopping around for a Wave when I lucked into a TTi at almost the same price. The original had some quirks, but over time I had got used to them and even developed something like affection for the thing. For my purposes, the tool set was just about perfect. It was always reliable, and a few times got me out of serious situations, including one that could have involved self defense (didn't get that far.)

Fond of the ST as I was (and still am,) I couldn't pass on OHO blades, bit holder, pocket clip, lock releases instead of the awkward and potentially hazardous unlocking method on the original and the more comfortable handles. I have several other Leathermen that I use now and then; Squirt P4, Rebar, Super Tool 300. Each fills a niche and I'm glad to have them, but the Charge has been for the last seven years my EDC. I guess that qualifies it as my current favorite, although just between us, it's a relationship of convenience, not affection. They say you never quite get over your first love :D .

The Micra. I work in an office and I need a decent sized pair of scissors far more than I need a pair of pliers.

Probably the Pulse. Light enough to carry without a sheath but with locking tools, more precise scissors than a PSTII and plain edge blade. Could do without the locking levers since the tools can be unlocked the same way as an original ST.

My favorite would have to be the original PST. I got mine when I was a kid in the scouts and used it for years before retiring it for a more modern tool.

Despite its lack of locking tools, removable bit drivers, OHO and outside accessible tools its still a useful multitool and I still carry it on occasion. Its also far more efficient space wise than any of the new ones. The PST in its belt sheath is barely an inch wide and is minuscule compared to the other tools in a sheath.

After that I find the Wave the most useful for my needs, but carry a Fuse far more often. I carry the Fuse at work where I am likely to lose it. It was a sub $20 pawn shop find so I won't fret losing it.

My fave for urban carry has been the pulse. Great scissors, great file, great blade. But I really like my Rebar. Perfect tool would be a Rebar with the Pulse's level of fit and finish, and scissors instead of the serrated blade. I think you couldn't get much better than that.

Since I always have it in my LFP, I have to say that the Micra is my favorite.

I almost always have my Blast nearby in my day pack nearby me and I find it nearly but not quite perfect. The sharp edges are less sharp after some (not entirely finished) sanding and reshaping. The Zytel still has the plasticy feel but I have to admit it's rugged and very light and for this use, light is right. The tool section is nearly perfect for my use with the only exception being that I would prefer to loose the knife blade and gain a reamer/awl type tool. I can and one day will make that modification.

I review other tools from both the current and retired line and no other tool gives the combination of tools, locking tools (a must have), weight and inside tool selection that the Blast delivers. Note, i use the Blast as a back up tool, not as an EDC tool for job site. If I did that, I can see the logic of the externally bladed tools like the Wave and Charge. Just not my need.

The new Wave is my favorite Leatherman tool to carry and use. The Charge line is nice but I prefer the Wave because it's considerably thinner then the Charges. Been carrying a Wave since 2005.

CHARGE TTI ALL THE WAY BABY!!!!!! I absolutely adore mine, it doesn't get carried as much as I would like but whenever I get a chance it leaps into the fray with the same tenacity as a bulldog. Couldn't be happier.

The new Wave. I did a lot of research before buying my "go to" multitool that was going to replace my Wingman. The only tool for which I don't have a frequent or at least regular use is the saw blade (but that feature is still nice to have).

I only have 3.. Blast, Squirt P4, Style PS.. So Each!!:triumphant: John :D
