Tell me your favorite lock for a folding knife and why. Mine is the ball bearing lock seen on the spyderco manix 2.

At this point, a liner lock for ease of use and reliability (I don't care if I can't hit the spine with a hammer and have it not fail)

But I have a lot of locks to try I haven't tried a axis lock, compression lock, or a ball bearing lock.

I like the Tri-Ad best followed by traditional mid lock backs and Spydie Compression lock.

Durability and reliability along with strength, ease of use with either hand or gloved hand, grip area is comfortable, etc.

I'm really loving my compression lock. The triad is awesome as well. Locks with strength.

liner and compression for me... im wanting to try out the hogue button lock though...

RIL (framelock) is my favorite.

Next would be a liner lock, and then a compression or lockback.

Axis. (A+)
Compression.
Mid lock.
Liner Lock.
Like my Manix 2, but not the lock.
Don't own even one frame lock, not into them.

Stainless Steel liner lock. A good liner lock (Spyderco Sage 1) is simple, easy to maintain, good value, strong, and makes for an easy to deploy knife. It is just as strong as a titanium framlock for any type of folding knife use, but will not wear out nearly as fast IMO. I would have chosen the compression lock, but would like to see more and different style knives using it.

I have a variety of different locks, but my favorite 3 are the back lock, the frame lock, and the button lock. The lock back if done correctly is prob my favorite but its close.

Axis lock, no discussion> unsticky frame lock> liner lock> HATE back locks, yet I have so many Spydercos (I haven't healed from the bite)

I think the axis lock is my overall favorite although benchmade are not my favorite. I also do like the compression lock and frame locks. Good ol back locks are fine too :)

Frame Lock is my favorite. Especially in titanium.
I like the simplicity, it being strong, and just being an actual part of the knife.
I also enjoy the over all feel.

Liner lock may be my next favorite because it's similar to a frame lock, just covered.
