I’m a true carbon fiber addict. If it’s an option, I’ll choose Carbon Fiber every time lol. I do really like Micarta as well. However, I’m not a big fan of Aluminum because of how it wears with time. Especially if it’s colored Aluminum.

What is your favorite material for show side folder scales?

(My guess is that G10, Micarta, & Titanium will be the most popular...)

Please elaborate below!

I like both sides to have matching scales. If it is a Ti framelock, then I like the show side to be also Ti in the exact same thickness and with the exact same finish as the frame lock side. IOW, I reject the very idea of a "show side".

Then vote titanium. The poll is already at the # limit for possible answers.

Ti. Clean, elegant, anodization options.

Also, milled titanium is the most dang attractive thing you can put on a knife in my opinion. So many different finishing and texturing options.

Carbon fiber can be close. Particularly marbled, shred, or end cut.

But just look at this…

And keep in mind my picture could be way better. Quantums love colder lighting. 😉

I voted G10. It’s what I’m used to. Plus I prefer heavy duty knives as my main EDC and usually those are wrapped in G10.

I don’t have enough experience with Micarta to give a fair opinion. The one knife I have with it is kind of slick.

CF is nice. But as stated above I prefer slightly heavier knives. I’m not into the ever popular lightweight trend.

I couldn't agree more! It's one knife, it should look that way.

If I was allowed to vote more, like 3-2-1 score style, I would do G-10, Micarta and Nylon/Zytel/FRN/high density plastic.

These things are durable, tough, less expensive, while can still have creative motives.

1a. Micarta
1b. G10.
3. Zytel/plastic. Spydercos FRN and their machining make for a nice, grippy scale imo.

Not a fan of Ti, Al, or CF really. Slick for me.
Not a fan of bone or wood either. Some wood can really look great (snakewood might be my favorite) but I just prefer an artificial material.
I won't consider Copper, bronze, or brass.

I prefer to have matching scale materials. So for frame locks, I want titanium. Inlays or overlays can be okay. I just don't like when the whole scale is a dissimilar material. It almost looks like a liner lock that lost a scale on one side.

That said, I like a good liner lock. I like having a non-metallic scale on both sides. It feels good to me.

Micarta has become my favorite material. I like wood but unless it is stabilized, Micarta is just so much easier. Besides being reasonably durable, it's also diverse. I'm a fan of fuzzy canvas in hand but polished can be nice too. I've been exploring burlap lately. I'd like to try more linen and paper Micarta in the future.

Mine used to be carbon fiber because years ago it was rare to see real CF used on anything. Now I appreciate the solidity of titanium with G10/CF/ micarta 2nd place because of the added grip potential

What model is that? Nice!

Not a huge fan of framelocks, especially full metal. CF, wood, and micarta are my favorite handle materials.
