My question is this, how do you guys like to carry your Strider folders in public?

Toothed wrote, "I'm still undecided on which ballistic nylon sheath model to get (the SOE or Eagle or other?). The kydex model I've seen on this forum leaves the AR too naked--for my taste--are there other kydex models?"

I bought the SOE sheath for my new AR. It's OK. I'm not familiar with the Eagle sheath. I feel the same way as toothed about the kydex. For instance, walking through a crowd with my AR hung from a kydex sheath seems like an invitation for trouble. Out in the woods, I'd probably love it.

When I'm working, I wear Docker Mobile pants. The extra pockets on each side are perfect for my AR. When I'm off work, I wear 501s or BDUs. I either drop my AR in a pocket or use the SOE sheath.

I don't use the clip. The clip on my AR is very tight. The G-10 is nice & grippy. I wouldn't change the G-10 for anything.

The clip can be loosened up by bending it away from the knife. Doing this carefully, you can get the clip to be just the right tightness to hold securely, yet it's not so hard on the pants. If I'm in a public place, that's the way I carry it, as it's mostly out of sight. Otherwise I use the SOE pouch. I would be interested to see other pouches though.

ok, heres how ya do it, get some astro glide and.......
well nevermind, just clip it in your pocket and stop whinin!:p

I use the kydex.
But I have formed the habit of not tucking in my shirt.
No one notices the knife, its up high next to my phone.

kydex sheath. that sheath's actually more secure than i had thought.

plus, when sitting through a long meeting, instead of scratching balls like everyone else, i can spin my GB to count the minutes.

cheers~

ooops, in public. missed the point entirely. sorry.

i'd put the GB in a condura belt pouch that was meant for a small GPS unit. kinda hard to relate that to a blade for the passing-by.

cheers~

Check here for info on the Eagle Industries nylon sheath. http://www.eagleindustries.com/mainprod.asp?scv=0
I found this through a thread someone else posted (I forgot his name to give him proper credit) about sheaths for the AR/GB Striders.

The Eagle Ind. sheath seems slimmer than the SOE sheath with the plastic clips; however, the "hook and loop" fasteners do make more noise and may be less secure. The Eagle brand sheath can also be positioned for vertical as well as horizontal carry.

The SOE nylon sheath has had favorable reviews on this forum; however, I haven't seen any first hand reviews on the Eagle Ind. sheath. Anyone? Thanks.

S,

everytime i search for an opinion on the next buy , your posts just pop up. Wonder if you'd share some after thoughts on that KAC folder and the Pac Axe. (geometry on the knight's, leverage on the gerber)

i'm almost certain you'd be aware of TRG products. got the grappling hook and certainly eye-balling that battle axe. do you have it by any chance?

My AR came with the perfect amount of clip tension. I wear it clipped to the right front jeans pocket. I even wear it to church and no one notices.

On duty, clipped in my right rear pocket 'cause my sidearm covers my right front pocket and it rubs on the holster.

Off duty, clipped in my right rear pocket 'cause I'm used to it being there and I have a pocket pistol in my right front pocket.

When I'm wearing overalls I clip it in the ruler pocket on my right leg.
