Favorite Military Sprint?

I've recently discovered the awesomeness that is the Military. I picked up the CF/M390 sprint and KW Ti/G10/CPM M4 and enjoy them both thoroughly. They are fairly different from each other but profoundly useful in their own ways.

The CF/M390 is super light, looks great, is fairly worry free due to M390's corrosion resistance, and holds an edge for a long time.

The Ti/G10/M4 feels nice and stout, is easier on the pocket material, holds an edge for a long time, and can take a beating. It's been great for yard work so far.

That said, I'm curious as to what others have found to be their favorite Military Sprints. Of all the sprints out there, what's your favorite and why?

For me, it's the CF/BG-42 Sprint. It was the first version to have the non lock side nested liner and I have loved BG-42 for a long time! It's very stainless, takes a superb edge, and I like the name :D

The new KW 204P, because of the new pivot. The knife action is more fluid than my other sprints.

So far, of the ones I have, my favorite is the 2012 KnifeWorks M390, Peel Ply CF.

Here's a fairly complete list (year released, steel and handle material) of all Military Sprints, Dealer Exclusives and Forum knives (the last two are not out yet):

  1. 2000: CPM-440V, Black G-10 (Spyderco Forum 2000)
  2. 2005: CPM-S30V, Black CF
  3. 2006: BG-42, Black CF
  4. 2007: CPM-D2, Foliage Green G-10
  5. 2008: CPM-S90V, Black CF
  6. 2010: CPM-M4, Black G-10/TI (KnifeWorks)
  7. 2011: CTS-XHP, Brown G-10
  8. 2012: M390, Peel Ply CF (KnifeWorks)
  9. 2013: CPM-S90V, Blue G-10 (Bento Box Shop)
  10. 2013: Cru-Wear, Grey G-10
  11. 2016: CTS-204P, Dark Green G-10 (KnifeWorks)
  12. 2016: 52100, Black CF

Cruwear...:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

m390 is right there with it...:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Now that Spyderco has made available so many SUPER stainless & SUPER tool steels to me...well, I've kinda experienced diminishing returns in terms of my med / light EDC use.

Please don't take this as ungrateful, but...

I've found more variety, enjoyment, and utility out of different custom Millie handles than various Sprint steels...YMMV :o

but it's still nice to feel spoiled with all the steel variety, thanx much Sal, Eric, Gail, Spydercrew, Mills, & Foundries...;)

I've eyed the Cruwear Millies that pop up here and there quite a few times. I have a Cruwear Manix that fills that void to some extent, though.

The 52100 sprint has me intrigued for sure. Anyone know if that's going to have a clad blade or not?

They will be solid 52100, no cladding.

My fav is Cruwear, but it's also the only sprint Millie I've owned ;)

S90V takes it from the M4 version as my favourite, mostly because it is noticeably lighter to carry and requires less maintenance to keep it rust free.
